Not to completely derail the conversation, but is it time to dust off these plans to expand Hilton's capacity?

I'd be interesting in hearing information about this from people who were around to remember it.

This is all about adding seat (mostly in the balcony) so that we can get top-name concerts. I don't hear anybody talking about that anymore. What we need are high end seats and luxury boxes that we can sell for a fortune.

The short version is that the people of Ames saw the word "tax" and **** their collective pants. They failed to comprehend that the tax increase would be paid by visitors -- you know, people who stay in hotels/motels -- not residents. Someone staying in a $75/night hotel room (remember, we're talking 1999 here), would have paid an extra $1.50/night had the issue passed. A dollar fifty.

It does not affect me, but did people in the corners actually get renewal notices? The email said they were not available, and it was the only section that had that listed.

Are they going to sell as many $325 tickets as they can and reduce the number of $175 tickets available?

Just wondering why that section is listed different in the email today.

Didn't today, but got the e-mail.
They're not available because they've been selling out.

Let me see if I can clear things up: All seats can be renewed today including corners. If you currertly have corner seats and want to add more seats on the corners, you have to call the office on Aug 20th and request to add seats. Corner seats will only be available to add if there are seats left after all corner renewals have been processed.

For New Season Tickets: $325 tickets can be ordered now but, if you want the $175 tickets you have to call on 8/20 and fall in line behind renewals.

Hope I have helped

We sold out of season tickets last year. I'm not sure where there would be new ones even to sell yet.

If we sold out of season tickets, then how could there have been single game tickets available last year? I could see them stopping the sale at some point, but there were balcony seats available last year in the Cyclone Club sections.

I don't know. I just remember them announcing that we did. How ADs figure sellouts and attendance is its own bizarro world filled with spin.

No we didn't. I think you're getting confused with corner seats and maybe football.

Maybe. A lot's happened since then. Corner seats have sold out for a couple years, but it seems like it was more.

Looking at old threads, looks like football had single game tickets available last year, although we might have announced a sellout there as well, or at least a record # of ticket sales.

So when I go through the option to renew my corner tickets it gives me the option to request to add seats if available. Does that mean I wouldn't need to call on the 20th?

Also, if I do that, and there isn't an additional seat available, will I still retain my existing two seats?

I'd like to get 1 more seat so I can take both of my boys this year but I want to make sure I keep the two seats at the very least.

The only seats you could add were donor level seats. I have both donor and corner tickets and I didn't see any option to add corner tickets. So I assume everyone will have to wait till August 20th if they want to buy/add more corner tickets. But if if you did request an additional seat you wouldn't lose your two seats if the request got denied.
