Tiller will start if Austen's arm falls off.

Jerome isn't near as skilled of a passer.

If you start a freshman QB, you will not win consistantly at Iowa State. Arnaud has the experience, and this takes the pressure off of Tiller. With all the injuries in college football, Tiller will get his chance, but hopefully not to early in the season for both QBs.

I have to STRONGLY agree with this post. I don't think Arnaud is the best Cyclone QB ever, yet, but he think he could get there. Now, to temper my expectations, I thought the same thing about Meyer for a couple of years. The reason I think Arnaud will be, is because he's more athletic than any ISU qb, sans Wallace, BUT I think he is a better decision maker than Wallace, and he throws far fewer picks. The only reason he doesn't get more love is the fact that we haven't won our close games. My response is that it's no fault of his. Look at the last minute drive against UNLV. It was unreal. Look at the drive at CU, except that last play. He was brilliant, but it wasn't his fault that the defense had McFarland figured out and loaded up against that weak side option. Look at the final series against KU. 3 catchable 1st downs, 3 dropped balls. At some point his teammates have to meet him halfway. I know some will say that a good QB "finds a way to win". Well, what more can he do? Catch his own passes? Play defense? Call the plays?

Can you imagine how awesome Seneca could have been in Herman's spread offense? Having an OC that creative who would not try to force him to be a pocket passer would have been awesome. We would have won more games in 2002 as well. I think AA, and JT eventually, will benefit greatly from the offensive mind of Herman.
