Is there a health reason contributing to his decision?

Yesterday afternoon, Chris Williams and Randy Peterson said that they saw him at Myrtle Beach and he really looked bad - stressed and tired. Peterson said Floyd was talking retirement, but he assumed after the season was over.

Here is an old Iowa State Daily write up on the Big 22.

http://www.iowastatedaily.com/article_1b0c4eb9-6d6c-5d0f-8f46-a0a88cc5a293.html

Tim had NINE recruits in the 97-98 class.

"1997-98 Cyclone recruits C.J. Bruton, Andy Stensrud, Marcus Fizer, Lee Love, Martin Rancik, Gerrod Henderson, Jerry Curry, Chris Ridens and Walter Moore made up the North team."
With Burton and Henderson not making it didn’t we add Paris Corner? Or was he with Rodney Hampton and Delvin Washington?

Paris Corner, Delvin Washington, and Lamont Sides were on the roster in 97-98 so they must have been back-up recruits. Crazy to think only 2 guys from that class ever really made a contribution. I always forget Stevie Johnson was Floyd's first big time h.s. recruit. Rodney Hampton came in the next year which was LE's first year. Pretty sure he committed while Tim Floyd was still there though.

So he gets a pass here for the USC stuff? Wonder if that went on anywhere else?

that class was ranked second nationally. Every ISU fan to an individual was super pumped. if Bruton and Henderson had not been deemed ineligible, it probably would have lived up to the hype. We did have Fizer and Rancik though...

What other coaches did we interview beyond Floyd and Hallihan? Kind of interested in what we passed on since I saw Lebo resigned today (I swear he was someone we looked at maybe for Eustacy)

Ha! I have only been to Iowa City once and I was too young to remember it, but I lived in El Paso for a year and other than having a great heavy metal scene, the city is just terrible.
Well Iowa City isn't a whole lot better. Lol.

On another note Floyd was probably the most talented coach/recruiter ever at ISU. If he'd stayed ISU probably would have made a final four or two or more.
