They just showed some great clips from Floyd's ISU team that beat KU 56-55, I think it was in the Big 8 tournament, maybe?

They just showed Shirley in the stands in Phog Allen. Also, they showed some old footage of Floyd and Shirley at Iowa State. Pretty cool.

I'm always amazed of the home cooking KU gets at home. It truly is awe inspiring.

USC's player is driving in on a 2 on 1 break, has his arm clearly held down while going up for a layup, and no foul is called. The USC player goes flying, and so does the ball, and KU ends up with the ball on the other end of the court and a foul called on USC. Unreal.

Floyd is the reason LE had such great teams. He is a great college coach.

Funny how just a few days ago I was cheering against the men of Troy... and tonight... I think I like them.

that, and the fact that these announcers LOVE Kansas. Everytime they score, it's like they are working towards an upset. Sometimes I wish I could reach thru the TV and punch them.

1st these guys, next Tony Kornheiser

Sorry but I have only really been a die hard cyclone fan for about a year now, since I first got accepted. So my history is a little wishy-washy. I knew Tim Floyd was a while ago because since I am a Bulls fan I remember those horrible days where he was our coach but I also remember there were some memorable days when he was with Iowa State..

Tim's first season at ISU was Hoiberg's Senior year, which was the 2nd to last year of the Big 8, so that would have been 1995. Lost to Okie State in the title game. Second year Tim was here was Willoughby and Cato era and we won the last Big 8 title.

Floyd is the first coach I heard use the phrase "We want to make more free throws than our opponents shoot". I have since heard quite a few other coaches express the same. The announcers for the Drake game used it too.
