I'm curious to know if TJ has an agent. It's probably low because TJ and Jamie both know he isn't interested in going anywhere and they have discussed that.
We know CMC doesn't have one. Do we know if TJ does?

If that was the case they would keep it high. It's probably low because TJ and Jamie both know he isn't interested in going anywhere and they have discussed that.

Hell, even Fran McCaffery has an agent....CMC has an agent.
It's just that being a sports agent isn't that person's main profession.
It’s low because TJ wants to be able to compete. If we do not have the $ to be competitive, he could consider leaving. I think he will stay if he can reasonably compete in the open market for players. It's probably low because TJ and Jamie both know he isn't interested in going anywhere and they have discussed that.
Way too much uncertainty in the landscape for TJ to agree to something that becomes a roadblock to going elsewhere if the Big 12 or ISU can’t remain competitive or if Pollard leaves and we get another VandeveldeIf that was the case they would keep it high.
Doesn’t the contract state we’re on the hook for 100% of what’s remaining on the deal if we terminate?Reduces liability for the employer also.

If so, tough to see the liability decreasing for the AD
He probably has to work ten times harder now that Barta is gone.Hell, even Fran McCaffery has an agent....
Not necessarily. For example, Devries's buyout is 67% of the remaining contract if he gets fired. 37% if he chooses to take another job.Yeah, I always thought the buyout to fire a coach was the remaining value on the contract. And that the buyout we always reference was only the amount of the coach chose to leave. But the way this is being explained maybe I was wrong.

A lower buyout for the school to fire you often makes them feel more comfortable offering you a higher base salary than they might otherwise. It's all part of the negotiation for both sides.
Usually coaches are going to seek to be paid as much as possible, have the freedom to leave if something better comes along, AND have as much financial security as possible in the event they are fired.
The school is generally trying to satisfy those 3 areas as conservatively as possible. Usually there's some give and take between those areas, unless you're dealing with a hall-of fame coach or an idiot athletic director (i.e. Gary Barta)
Pollard contract extension thru 2048.I read buyout is a steady $4m, but drops to $2m if Pollard is gone.
Close, but only through 2030...Pollard contract extension thru 2048.
U herd it her firt.
