The whole crowd/feel has been a little underwhelming the last two weeks (given there hasn’t been a lot to cheer about).

I’ll give him a pass. He was either having a heat stroke or was drunk. If this upset you in any way… you need to realign your priorities.

Drunk? I think you are confused. That would have been Coach Eustacy!!

Anyone else underwhelmed by TJs appearance at the football game? It seemed like he was trying to say an essay on the team rather than pump up the crowd... he even repeated lines he forgot he said. He didn't even lead us in a cheer at the end! I love TJ, and think he will do great as the ISU coach, but I was disappointed yesterday.
Have you ever spoken over the PA system in a large venue like this? It is very disconcerting to hear your voice come back to you in a long delay like you get in a large venue like this. It can really make you sound funny if you aren't used to it because the tendency is to slow down your speaking because you feel like you are talking over yourself.. Probably better to put in earplugs so your voice coming back to you isn't so overwhelming.

I think that was a result of the product on the field. I was in the corner on the hill with my son as the team ran out right by us. I had a perfect view of the crowd and moments leading up to the opening kick. I took several videos that little JM has watched over and over. That place was lit and ready to go ******* bananas and even crazier had the game gone (significantly) differently.

Yep, eventually the team will pay back the crowd. Folks even revved up in the 4th quarter when they played the Juicy Wiggle...they just need the team to respond.

As for TJ, he didn't fall down, he didn't swear, and he didn't say anything wrong...pass.

If someone can direct me to the entrance of this fantasy world where everything is absolutely perfect and meets everyone's expectations 100 % of the time I would greatly appreciate it.

If you're looking for that... you need to get of a sports forum.

God bless Cyclone Fanatic. No topic is too small for us to address.
I feel pretty justified in making a thread about this... Chris and Brent brought it up on the podcast too. Clearly I wasn't the only one thinking it was weird.

They talked about it jokingly as if they were giving TJ a hard time about it. Not some grand disappointment that you seem to think it is

Chris said the same thing about wishing he would have just said beat the hawks and that it was not a great performance... Which is exactly what I said.

I really don’t care if my coach is that eloquent in front of a crowd of 61,500. I know I wouldn’t be. He showed up to support the football team and try to get people excited for a new basketball season, that’s what matters.

That's why I made it clear that I love TJ and think he will succeed. Just thought it was a weird coach introduction, and didn't do what other coaches do in that situation... it was before some big downs too, would have been nice to lead a chant, and not try to talk for 2 minutes about his strategies for the team. There's a time and a place for that...
