I would, never, ever, EVER, give up a conference championship of any kind for a hypothetical scenario.

Yeah, it's tempting to assume it was an either/or — do well in Big 12 tournament or advance deep in NCAA tournament. On the other hand, if there's a case where it might apply, this team was probably it. I had that in the back of my mind after the KU game last weekend, but I ignored it, thought maybe it was a sign they were getting into a typical Hoiberg March groove.

ESPN logged in 11.6 million brackets, 24 are still alive. How many of the 11,599,976 messed up brackets are on us?
That's a lot of angry texts!

To be fair, Baylor is responsible for a good number of those too.

Resume pity party...

1) It was a B12 tournament championship. Kansas won the conf championship.

2) I'd gladly give that up for a UAB win. No brainer. Especially with UCLA and Iowa/Gonzaga the path to the elite 8.

I'm thoroughly convinced UNI will play Iowa in the FF. When it rains it pours.

I was fine until my inevitable first encounter with a purple hawk last night telling me how much I suck because I wasn't actively rooting for Iowa. I thought was doing well to work my way to indifference.

Pro-tip, if you are still down in the dumps, don't watch the games. I had to turn off the UAB-UCLA game as it was depressing. The sucky part is that I had a 4 day weekend planned for doing nothing but watching bball but I have to find something else to do now.

My wife told me to go watch hoops with my 86 year old dad instead of holing up in my basement by myself. She's a wise woman. It's definitely more fun. I don't get to do that nearly as much as I used to and who knows how much longer I'll have to do it. Puts things in perspective.

Today does feel worse. Much worse. Thursday I was drunk and angry. Now I'm sober and depressed. I could fix half of that but my liver asked for a reprieve yesterday morning.

This will be the salt in the wound, no doubt. And, for all those Hawk fans saying they can't figure out why we wouldn't be rooting for them, tell them thats because they've never been on the other end of being treated like ****.
