I liked Herman. I have no idea why. But Meyer will probably be unhappy with it for the whole season.

I liked Herman too. Just not the source. But, I thought it was interesting that huge program like OSU could possibly have the same offenses woes with 4* and 5* recruits like we had with 2* and 3* recruits. At some point, you have to look at the common factors.

I'm confused. That article doesn't say anything about Herman, and is mostly describing Meyer being upset with his players not picking up the offense fast enough, something he goes on to say was also a problem at all of his previous stops as head coach. What's the takeaway from that?

I'm sure that there is some transitional period, since the article said that is what it was like when Urban was at Bowling Green, Utah, Florida, and now Ohio State. Also, it's probably a motivational ploy.

It has absolutely zero to do with Herman. They are implementing Meyer's offense and he admits to having the same problems everywhere he's coached.

PS. It helps if you read the article before commenting on it, Tom Herman was never mentioned.

I got the impression that Pope is happier with how the running backs will be used.

At the recruiting party, I got the feeling from a couple coaches that they weren't too disappointed in Herman leaving.

Which seems odd in an article about the offense. In fact, the article almost seems to be going out of its way to not mention the offensive coordinator.

“You see flashes of it when everything’s going right and it’s incredible,†offensive lineman Jack Mewhort said. “You just have to trust in coach Meyer. Everybody’s just really buying in. We’re going to have to learn, definitely, but every day is a progression and we’re looking forward to getting better.â€

Read -Meyer saying all the schools where he came to were in the toilet, he had nothing to work with. If/when we win it will be because of all I have done. I should be paid more.

I think that Meyer better prepare for being unhappy for awhile. Herman consistantly outsmarts himself with his playcalling and his coaching of QB technique/fundamentals leaves a lot to be desired. How many QBs actually got better under his teaching at ISU?

I never said it was TH offense. The key word here is "implementation". You would assume the OC not the HC would be implementing the offense. Even if it's Meyer's offense. I'm not bashing on him either. TH is a very good football coach. But like CPR has said, it's the teaching part we were missing but now have. Hmmm, what changed?
