I don’t fault Dekkers for the turnovers fully because I like aggressiveness but they are ending up being massive setbacks. Today and against Baylor were huge huge turning point. Sadly we have to assume he throws at least one and likely two INTs every game and hope we can counter but we aren’t doing that. Very costly.

Often interceptions can be overcome by teams just being aggressive and throwing downfield. One interception shouldn't be the reason you lost a game. One interception is definitely a problem though when your receivers are told to run 2-4 yard drag routes on 3rd and 8.

I agree but you and everyone else knows that won’t be asked.
Sadly, ISU media in general is very, very soft on coaches when they like them. Prohm didnt get nearly the heat he should have for the same reason

This is not me comparing Campbell to Prohm. Campbell actually did something on his own with his program

You want to start forcing an OC change, you might as well fire Campbell.
It starts with the o line and ISU has not been good with Jeff Meyers as the o line coach. Dekkers doesnt have enough time to make the correct throw. Kansas defense is not that good and yet we make their defense look all world.

Some of you fans are unbearable. I bet after our first three games you didn’t think “Manning is the absolute worst.” I understand the competition wasn’t the same as these last two weeks, but how much of the ineptitude is on Dekkers? He has been less than impressive and holds onto the ball wayy too long, wayy too often
Manning is responsible for Dekkers’ development and calling plays that allow him to succeed. Manning failed at his job today. If he wants to continue to have this job, he should make changes to how he does things.

All I'm saying is when you force a HC to make a change like that, you create a terminal situation. Or you're admitting there's a terminal situation by having to go over the HC head.

Been saying it for more than 5 years that Manning needed to go. Been saying that the overwhelming stats the offense has put up over the past few years were a fallacy, as the offense rarely showed up when it mattered most, and now that the offense doesn't have NFL-caliber talent playing at the skill positions (outside of X) to bail out the bad decisions, Manning is getting exposed for how terrible of an offensive mind he is.

And even if it's the OL that's not blocking and Dekkers making the bad throws and not Manning, who's the ******* coach? Manning - the guy who should be coaching his players into making better decisions.

We were almost rid of him when he left for the colts but CMC made the bizarre decision to not hire an OC to replace him. One of the weirdest staffing decisions I can remember. Maybe a red flag looking back on it now.
I remember thinking at the time, and it seems pretty likely now, that Manning left with the intent to be back in a season or 2 and it was more him being sent on excursion to learn more than it was him actually leaving.

Which is proof by our one possession game record. We almost never win one possession games
and with a couple of exceptions, it's mostly the ineptness by the offense that we don't win those one possession games.

I had been anti-Manning all season and into last year. Not sure where you’re getting your BS from.

Crossing routes as well.

You end up with receivers in the same space so defense doesn't get spread out.

In college football one of the hardest things to do is build a great defense, and to do it consistently over the course of time. We have had a good defense for the last 5 years and into this year. We have done the hard part and we are wasting that effort with offense that can't step up. I contend that Mannings numbers are inflated from 2020 playing covid teams that have packed it in and a couple of non con games like UNLV and ULM.

Offense, relatively speaking, is the easy part of college football. We have had so many games where our defense has stepped up and held some good offenses in check and put our team in position to win the game. They get put in bad positions by our offense and special teams and they still hold their own. We have lost so many close games over the last 5 years because our offense can't step up and pull it out. They can't even win between the margins. I mean, look at how many false starts this offense has had in critical red zone situations over the last few years. 7 of them against Washington State. SEVEN!!!!! That should never ever happen.

I can't believe we have a defense good enough to hold the nations top offense to basically one drive of 7 points (the O put them in a bad spot for the other 7) and held them to only 63 yards in the second half and we don't have anywhere near the offense to compliment them.
Isn’t the answer right on the staff? A former All American QB who probably knows a thing or two about running an offense and who is considered to be one of the brightest rising stars in college football coaching?
