3-0 should get votes.
4-0 should be in the T25.

After ISU beats UCONN, there will be a ranked matchup in Ames between Texas and ISU.

Don't think so. I think we would need to be 4-0 to be ranked and go into a big ranked conference matchup in Waco between the Bears and Cyclones. (Who would have thought those words would ever be typed five years ago???)

Agreed, 4-0. After we beat the **** out of Texas, we'll be ranked. Probably 23rd in the nation.

How funny would it be if College Gameday was in Waco?

Edit: High profile matchups that day include OU-UT, tOSU-Nebby, and Florida-LSU.

Beating Iowa won't likely even get us votes, beating UConn may give us a few if we come out and beat them handily. We won't be ranked going into the Texas game, but if we beat Texas (given they are still ranked when we do) then we can worry about a spot in the Top 25...

Agreed. If we start 4-0, then we START getting votes. Go 5-0 and we're in the top 25.

I disagree, top 25 at 4-0. We might be the only school in the BCS with three wins against BCS opponents after week 4 ..... But we are looking WAY to far ahead.

Beat UConn? Probably receive some votes. Not many, but as a higher poster said, a sound defeat of a team on the road from another BCS conference might turn some heads that we've got something rolling here.

A win against Texas *has* to mean some votes if not somewhere low in the 20s. I would think so, at least, but there won't be many 4-0 teams left in the country by that point, so we'd have to warrant some consideration.

When was the last time we were ranked? 2005, or so, when we beat Iowa? I think we fell out when we lost (in *ridiculous* fashion) to Baylor soon thereafter, but, yeah, been a long time since we've had a cool number in front of our names...

I think we would need Texas to be undefeated still and we would have to beat them by at least 10 to be rated.

I love this time of year! Talking about going 5-0 and being rated! Love it!

I think we were #25 in the coaches' poll heading into the KU game in 2005, after we'd won 4 in a row and just beaten #22 Colorado in Ames. Earlier that year, we were ranked somewhere around #20 after beating Iowa, and still #21 after narrowly beating Army. We fell out of the top 25 after losing in double OT at Nebraska.

According to Cyclones.com, the last time we were ranked was the week that we played Nebraska in 2005 and lost in 2OT.

That game is 6 years to the day from the Texas game this year.
