Hard to argue with that list, but I'd be tempted to add any of the following....

They've got so many classics, a top 5 would be tough....

In my book, Riders on the Storm is probably #1.

Those are some popular ones. Best? No.
Here are five that are slightly less known but are very good. No particular order.

1. Cars His By My Window
2. Not to Touch the Earth/Celebration of the Lizard
3. The Soft Parade
4. Maggie M'Gill
5. Been Down So Long

As much as I like their early stuff, I really enjoy their later albums, particularly LA Woman because they got more bluesy.

LA woman Album, Roadhouse Blues, a bunch of deeper cuts that most have never heard. Pretty much agree with Mr. Janny.

People who think they weren't special or one of the more important and influential rock bands don't know much about music. Period.

As much as I like their early stuff, I really enjoy their later albums, particularly LA Woman because they got more bluesy.

You couldn't be more correct. LA Woman is a brilliant, brilliant album. Which makes JM's death even more tragic.

The Doors are the most overrated band ever. Everyone pretends like they like them when in all actuallity they were not that good of a band. They had a good front man who was controversial and brought attention to them. Otherwise there songs are not that good in my opinion. Zeplin would kick there *****.

I'd actually agree that they were a bit over-rated (except for LA Woman which is great) but they were musically one of the most "trained" bands of the '60's. Manzerik (sp) and Kreiger (sp) were clasically trained piano / guitar.

Yeah, you're wrong... except on the Zeppelin part. You're only kind of wrong there.

The Doors were a lot of show. That part is correct. And a lot of people stop there. They listen to Light My Fire and Roadhouse Blues and figure that's all there is. And for those people, that IS all there is. But, believe me, there is a lot more to them than just the stuff you hear on KGGO or a "Best of" album.
