Bad *** pics!

What direction from Indianola was the tornado??

I live in Norwalk but am gone for the weekend and I just want to make sure my house is still standing when I get home.

It was going east about half a mile north of 92.

Great pics.....looks like it didn't stay on the ground long.

I not sure how long it was on the ground. I just happened to look over and was like holy **** there is a tornado. I had about a minute or two to take the pics!

Great pics. I haven't seen a tornado on the ground since that wild day a few years back when weather delayed the start of the ISU/Colorado game. We were in the path going south on 17 to the game but not nearly as close as you. Didn't stop to get pics, that's for sure. Thanks for sharing.

That was some pretty crazy ****.. Power was out for about and hour and we were bailing water the whole time.. With no a/c, so I didn't even get to see the twister :(

Glad you are safe!

I thought that was your pic on channel 13.

My wife and I used to chase storms before we were married and after we got married. Since kids we thought we better not risk any life or limb going forward.

I work at Simpson College for the grounds department and I saw it come down on the webcam that channel 8 has installed on top of one of the buildings on campus. All I could thin of was stay away from campus because I didn't want to have clean up tree damage for a few days!

one helluva lighting show here in North Ankeny. A good 20 minutes worth of lightning in all directions with not a clap of thunder around 8:30 or so.

Why didn't psyclone Brian warn us about this in a new thread.
Sorry my friends... They have me "chasing" up in NW Iowa tonight. I know South Central Iowa really had their hands full this evening! I pray everyone is safe! We're setting up just SW of Storm Lake. Actually, between Storm Lake and Denison, IA. It's true, the skies over Iowa have really been talking tonight!

(Word to the wise)... They weren't tornados, they were Cyclones!
In meteorology a cyclone is an area of closed, circular fluid motion rotating in the same direction as the earth. This is usually characterized by inward spiraling winds that rotate counter clockwise in the Northern Hemisphere, and clockwise in the Southern Hemisphere of the Earth.
