Pertaining to football we have none. The guys touch the sign on their way out of the tunnel that's about all I got. Caroline is the closest thing.

The demise of the suburban brat Nebraska Cornhusker balloon release tradition is one of my favorite current events. The demise of Scott Frost's beautification is also interesting. The demise of La'Husker semi-professional football is entertaining. Gonna be some good Nebrasketball traditions coming soon too.

I would say that we have formed a good tradition over the last 15-20 years of fan loyalty. I don’t know any exact stats or stats you would even be able to use to show this. Maybe an equation that take into account attendance per loss or win, but I would be shocked if we weren’t in the top 10 of showing up for the team win or lose. We have kind of done opposite Field of Dreams. Instead of “if you build it they will come”; we’ve done “if they come it will build.” Which I think is rare/unique in college football and we have been recognized for our loyalty which strengthens a tradition.

Not necessarily a tradition, but I personally really like the Cyclone Warning sounds before kickoff and the Cyclone Weather alert. They could probably turn that into a tradition with a little more fanfare. Maybe a local meteorologist with a radar backdrop and some creativity.

Night game juicy wiggle with cell phone lights is another great one.
I would like to see the siren TEAM UP with the fight song.

There used to be a tradition of throwing oranges onto the field for the first touchdown of every game until we lost a game. This was meant to signify that we were on our way to the Orange Bowl. It might have been a meaningless tradition.
It became dangerous/banned when one hit Ralphie the Buffalo. Food service didn’t have oranges on Friday or Saturday

Honestly, I think our tradition is becoming being a scrappy team that pulls huge upsets.

How do they classify the wave a tradition when all they did was declare it one.
I propose at the end of the first quarter everybody at JTS gives the finger out east.
That one makes sense because they started it as soon as the children's hospital got built, and it was a fan initiative if I remember correctly. I'd say that's a pretty good reason to start a tradition. It'd be even better if Iowa had a tradition of paying their builders!

The ROTC units of both schools have a cool cy-hawk tradition of running the game ball from one university to the other.

As for ISU alone, I think our tradition is regularly being "this close" to getting over the hump, thus getting our expectations up, and then blowing things in devastating fashion. Starting 6-1 (before video reviews and Seneca was in bounds vs FSU) and in the top 10 before getting housed at OU and ending the season 7-7. Losing to Missouri (24 yard field goal, and no points from 1st and goal at the 3 in OT) and Kansas to lose the North in 2004-2005. Ridiculous hype from looking good while starting 6-3, then losing at Texas last year with a B12 title game on the line and losing a bowl game. In basketball we had the blarge @ MSU in elite 8 in 2000, 2001 Hampton as a 2 seed, Georges breaking his foot and not playing vs UCONN in 2014.

Also, getting apology letters about the officiating.

How about no more "Sweet Caroline" -- it is a Boston Red Sox thing.

Love me some Neil Diamond, but that one needs to go.

We could replace it with Dirty Water. Replace "down by the river Charles" with "down by the river Skunk."

"I love that dirty water, Ames Iowa, your my town."

Yeah, I'm being sarcastic. I also hate Caroline as 'our' tradition.

The greatest tradition we have at ISU is scarolinacy starting derogatory threads questioning Iowa State.

Firing the cannon after an ISU score

There were some cannon shots fired after what appeared to be an isu score that turned out not to be as well (thanks Refs)
