Play with focus, get enough cushion to remove any doubt about outcome, get some deep-bench minutes down the stretch, then find a way to win at OU.

This is really what we need after the KU game. Our guys expended so much effort in the first half and during the comeback at the end, we need a breather of a game if we can get it.

Hopefully we take care of business early, and the starters can be under 30 min of playing time.

Slap the press on for the 1st 5 minutes of the game, if it doesn't go well then pull it off, and if it does, no mercy and mail in the second half.

Toddrick Gotcher went 5-9 from 3 against us for 17 points.

In the two games since: 0-4 FG, 0-2 FT, 2 rebounds, 3 turnovers, ZERO points

I really don't know if we've ever elevated a scrub to a superstar quite as spectacularly as this particular case. I mean the guy is non-existent except in our loss down there.

QFT. Same with the ******* guy who couldn't miss a single FT down the stretch. I don't have the energy to look up his name but he was a normally mediocare at best FT shooter and wen't like 30-30 at the line during our comeback.

The gauge won't be points but how long the bench plays. If it's 5 mins then ok, less then 2 then this team should be kicked to the MVC. 10mins or more then get ready to raise the banner.

I am worried tech is a bad matchup for us.

You could have a team full of Ollie's from Hickory and they would be a bad match-up for us...On the road. They would rain three's granny style while we double Strap in the post.

At home it's a different matter. But I don't think we'll win as impressively as everyone hopes.

I like to ***** about this happening to ISU as much as the next guy, but keep in mind that we have been on the other end of this as well. Nader was 4-6 (.666) from 3 in the Iowa game. Prior to that he had been 0-9 (.000). Since he has gone 5-25 (.200) which makes it 5-34 (.147) in all games not in CHA.

Yes, we have to keep this in perspective. Another example, as it seems like just yesterday, BDJ went 8/8 in the Arkansas game and couldn't buy a bucket in the first half last night. The stars all aligned for Tech that game and its thankfully over. Of the ton of threads I've read about last night's game and other losses, the one thing everyone agrees on is the team lacks "consistency". Georges seems to have got his level of consistency back and Monte's has been mostly there. Seems like we see all facets but not at all times from all players. Other team's defense gets some of the credit but it also may mean the difference between a loaded 4-5 star team with depth and a solid, good but just 3-4 star roster with a little depth. Alot of teams, good teams, across the country are playing only 7 deep. Duke, Wisconsin, Virginia, to name a few. But for last night, KU had all facets after the first 8 minutes and all our guns didn't seem loaded. We were gassed, as were they, but they had the obvious edge. Let's beat Tech!

I would LOVE to think the guys wake up and win by 25+, but they've had several big "wake up calls" this season that they said they learned from and proved it wrong with another letdown. They have the pieces to beat anybody, but not the cohesion and consistency right now. If they play with 90% of the effort from the Kansas game, they win just about every possible game coming up, but thus far they've only proven to play with effort that matches their perception of the upcoming opponent.

I really hope this is different and we come out on fire and it carries forward, but I also wouldn't be surprised by a 5-7 point win.
