Baylor got away with so many moving screens last night it was ridiculous. I commented to my wife that their screener was acting like a bulldozer. Set the screen and then start moving the defender away from the shooter.

There were no illegal screens called in the entire game. NONE. Remarkable.

And only one charge (called by Lisa Jones, of course) -- against Maggie, when Bickle was moving sideways and then somehow rocketed 7 feet backwards.

I just watched the game again. Baylor is a great team. Very easily a final 4 team and Smith a phenomenal player. The painful reality is they are just more talented (longer, better verticals, better size and more speed) but it was hard to see them win. I really do love this team but in the second quarter they just seemed overwhelmed and intimidated. At one point when ER had the ball on the right wing the Baylor defense let up and she had a clear path to the basket. She drove and Smith closed. She would get a lay up blocked but almost looked as if she froze. She tried to look for a cutter or open player but ultimately turned over the ball. I would bet 8 of 10 times she could have just stopped and hit the 6-8 foot shot she had in front of her before Smith arrived. She is an assist first and shoot second player and will hit that shot next time. I hope and believe this team can learn and grow from this and I think will still win some games.

I thought Lexi was taken out for the second quarter cause she had 2 fouls and until the last couple minutes, we were keeping it close?

We will never compete with bigger more physically teams when we shoot poorly.

I thought guards did a great job with dribble penetration. Would love if they'd "stop, pop, drop" from the elbow. Seemed like many times they beat their defender to lane but got too deep against Baylor bigs.

Love this team, and I'm so glad we'll get to see them in Hilton for the NCAA Tourney!

Good article in the Dailey. We often shot poorly for a reason / their defense.

Quoting Coach Fennelly..."We can't go 4 for 22 @ the three point line and expect to win"...This team has played tremendous basketball and HAS NOTHING TO BE ASHAMED OF...25 Wins & 4 Losses is a GREAT SEASON...IN MY OPINION!
...and remember GO CYCLONES!

Sadly, the beatings will continue until recruiting improves. Love Coach BF, but he recruits and coaches to the rules as written, and not as they are applied. That has to change.

Completely disagree here. This subverts the game itself. I'd much rather watch a skilled team like we have, take a few losses a year to thug teams, and enjoy what I'm seeing. Doing otherwise teaches the wrong lesson...
