I'm sure he's just a figure head, probably doesn't know anything about rockets at all....

By the way, if you're not following Waterloo's very own Tim Dodd, the Everyday Astronaut, what are you really doing with your life?

Twitter is dead though, you guys are right. I give it 2-3 days, tops.

He’s smart because he did PR? He should try it with Twitter.

I think it'll continue on...probably just less users and advertising.
Possibly. So far it sounds like the # of users has increased, although I don't think we know for sure because that's not publicly released, just based on rumors. We'll see if that continues.

Him understanding and being able to rattle these sorts of complex things on a whim is remarkable.

That doesn't always equate to being good at running a business though.

It will be interesting to see where he ends up; seems like he jumped it a bit with 'I can buy ANYTHING' but maybe it'll smooth out. In our 'get rich by getting attention' world he'll probably still come out alright.

Btw pornhub has 150 employees world wide and they never have site issues. So I still don’t understand why Twitter had so many employees. I guess we will see if they run the company with 50 percent less employees if they needed them or not
BTW not only do you not know what you're talking about but you're wrong. There's 2-300 just in networking.

SpaceX put more mass into orbit than the rest of the world combined the last two years. Two entities in the world are currently capable of putting humans into orbit. Russia and SpaceX. I can't comprehend how people don't realize what an accomplishment SpaceX is.
SpaceX is his biggest accomplishment no doubt but as I said it isn’t an industry designed for profitability. It is telling that his biggest success is the one that has the biggest government assistance.

I don't think Musk is dumb he obviously has intelligence in certain areas. I also think he's an ego maniac that thinks he knows everything about everything and he obviously doesn't. I also think he tries too hard to be a contrarian and that's annoying. Definitely thankful for all the Tesla and SpaceX contributions but I think he's bungled this Twitter thing pretty bad. We will see if it works or not

Very fair points IMO.

There's a definite trend of folks on the spectrum (Musk has come out on his Asperger's syndrome) to be able to understand and create things on an extraordinary level outside the 'norm' and he would fall in line with other key historical figures that are speculated to be in similar territory.

He also seems to be in unrelated 'no matter what I do, people will know about it' mode which is also trendy and can be dangerous.

Interested to hear others opinions (not political or cave bound) about Musk's actions since taking control. He obviously realized there was some serious dead weight just milking a paycheck, but dang. If I had that much money into something that could vanish quite quickly ... well ... I'd take a different approach.
Enjoying the disruption.
