So nice to listen to a 30-60 minutes of mostly uninterrupted local sports talk.

On KNXO, you have to hope you don't tune into 20-25 mins of commercials per hour and then if you don't get an ad, you probably will get someone talking about non-sports stuff.

I had been listening to kxno less and less each year down from having it on nearly every day in early 00s.

I probably listened 5-6 times total all last year and the complete lack of excitement about ISU’s NCAA tournament was the nail in the coffin. Several of the shows after ISU destroyed Wisc on the road had the emotion of a funeral like someone just died rather than excitement.

I have no issue with live daily radio as a format vs podcast, it’s just idiotic that so many of the personalities are obviously in agony when the local team wins. They need to just always have a balance of open ISU and Iowa homers rather than so many Iowa fans pretending not to loathe ISU.
agree... have not listened much to kxno since Chris left. Love the iowa everywhere content.

Turned on the drive yesterday.... almost 0 ISU discussion... just on and on about iowa. Almost the only mention of ISU is when they discussed CMC as odds on favorite to go to nebbie.

The only bad part is Miller and Hassel make hawk fans seem decent. Actually I’ve always kind of liked both of them. Iowa Everywhere has far exceeded my expectations. I wish the CF pods could be folded into there though just to make things easier.

When KXNO used to be better J Miller was the most entertaining guy whether it was on his own or paired up with somebody. Obvious Iowa homer (which I like compared to guy who hates ISU pretending not to), made it humorous and obvious when he was trolling ISU, would criticize Iowa when they had screw ups or scandals, would sprinkle some truth about ISU's struggles.

Like you said, when it was he and Deace it made you feel some compassion toward Iowa compared to aligning yourself with a turd like Deace in any way.

The few times I listened for basketball talk last year it was insane. You'd have thought Fran's guys were the Jordan Bulls playing in the NBA and ISU didn't exist...while all objective reality pointed to ISU being a substantially better team as has been the norm for 25 years now.

News flash Murph/Andy/KXNO in general...ISU is playing a varsity conference basketball schedule and Iowa is racking up wins against the 8th grade teams. It wasn't a fluke that the games vs the Big Ten were like a breather where ISU got to coast to easier wins.

It's exactly as stupid as if they couldn't acknowledge SEC football has good teams and one of the local teams was an SEC football team.

Miller was so distraught in his post game.

I really like listing to Bruns the day after the game too. He has a great understanding of the game and he is largely positive about the ability to fix issues we may have or had.

I’d actually like to have Deace back on radio to talk strictly sports. The facts he could spout off the top of his head was pretty impressive.

Why is the world is that guy not coaching someplace? or at least being paid to watch film for a team and give his thoughts or something?

I have always enjoyed Jon Miller’s style and delivery on the air. Really happy that he’s in the fold for Iowa Everywhere.

I like Iowa Everywhere’s stuff so far, but the Jared/JBo show isn’t for me. Maybe it’s aimed at a younger audience - I’m mid 40s. Miller and Hassel are both super sharp and worth listening to, though Blum let Hassel go on too long about how Iowa sucks. It’s true that Iowa sucks, but there’s an implication that we only defeat Iowa when they suck. And that’s bs.
Fwiw, I like Murph and Andy too
