Do you think the college coaches have some inside knowledge on the vote for immediate one-time transfer eligibility? Or are they like us reading one day it’s still on and the next day it’s not til January 2021, and then maybe in May, & who knows what tomorrow?

This is a really good get bc it adds talent where we need it.. I think he and Tre will essentially be interchangeable at that spot..

T Harris > Grill
Javon > Zion

and it’s not close imo.

if we can land 1 more really good guard we will be competitive in conf imo..

After seeing his stats of averaging one assist per game my first thought was and this is our next point guard? Second one was with Harris and Jackson on the court at the same time we will have the shortest back court in Big 12, correction D1 basketball.

These guys are all 6'5" according to 247 --

Blackwell
Dubar
Johnson
Walker

If you have one of them as the 1 or 2 opposite Harris or Jackson, that helps a lot.

Blackwell supposedly has the wingspan of the average NBA power forward (7’1”). Hopefully both him and Dubar ready (6’9”) are both ready to give us some minutes.

G - Bolton, Harris, Jackson
W - Johnson, Blackwell, Dubar
C - Young, Conditt, Foster

Would be a much more normal roster than last year. Seems like a much better fit for Prohm’s four out offense.

Bolton will have that spot most of the time.Definitely a short team.

Interesting roster. I’m glad he’s a 2 yr guy, I really wish we knew if he would be eligible next year. I’m gonna assume no until we hear different. I’d say ideally we sign two immediately eligible players and one sit out transfer. Bank the other unless we have a solid option for it.

That’s just an outline of a plan, we should try to maximize talent regardless of eligibility or class as top priority of course.

I’m pretty stoked. This kid looks like he was born to play in Hilton and go off for 20 in a 2nd half sometime. If the game slows down for Tre, him and Harris could be one fun backcourt to watch.

Kenpom did a study or something that showed height doesn’t matter much in the backcourt (although maybe that has changed with the popularity of switching everything). Oregon has a three seed elite 8 team that went 5’6” and 6’0” in the backcourt.

Hopefully it looks like this:

PG Harris, Jackson or Walker
SG Bolton, Jackson
3&4 Johnson & a grad transfer, backed up by the freshmen
5 Young, Conditt, Foster

Yes I'm including Foster as one of the backup 4s as well.

Even if we land a wing it's possible one of the freshmen end up too good to sit. I'll just feel better they beat someone out with experience.

Finally, we don't need to fill up. Personally I think this is a year you want to keep one open. Never know who might end up not liking where they ended up and becomes available.
