14. Iowa State Cyclones

Swing game: vs. Arizona, Sept. 27

The Hawkeyes have a Big 12 game to open the season against Kansas State, so there is no easing into the season -- and that's before factoring in Iowa coming to town Sept. 6. So Cyclones fans won't have to wait long before having a decent sense of what to expect this year. Let's go ahead and assume they beat South Dakota and Arkansas State and could be 2-2, 3-1 or 4-0 headed in the fifth game against Arizona. The result of that game against the Wildcats would significantly shape expectations for the rest of the way. -- Bonagura

Maybe they're just going off the KXNO/WHO Radio promoted trip --

In the itinerary:
  • Kansas vs Iowa in Aviva Stadium's Touchdown Club

I just called ESPN and they will fix the text. I explained that ISU fans are again having fun blasting ESPN for this almost-annual poor editing.

If you think that is bad do not look at ESPN roster for the mens basketball team. Still had Omaha on it. I understand a lot of player movement but that doesnt make any sense

AI is a dream but will be awhile before it starts taking jobs and killing off the human race. Good starting point though and if you know how to correct it, another plus.

The original item is signed "Bonagura". Here he be. Maybe should invite him out here to have a chalk talk with Campbell.

They can't kill us. But they can pretend we don't exist.

My wife, who grew up in California and Utah, cannot for the life of her keep Iowa and Iowa State straight. No matter how many gentle corrections I give her (maybe I need to be more forceful, but is it worth the marital disharmony?).

Anyway, one day we went into a fast food place on the morning of the Cy-Hawk game here in Utah and two ladies were wearing Hawkeye shirts. I told them they were wearing the wrong colors and my wife backed me up and said “He’s an Iowa fan so that’s why he’s giving you a hard time.” It was the source of much confusion for them until I corrected her and said “Iowa State”

Sadly even after that she still can’t keep it straight.
