I have a hard time imagining LA guy LaMelo Ball schlepping around Minneapolis - St Paul in the winter. It could very well happen but it kind of gives me a chuckle.

I know a lot on here and other places really hammer on Prohm..sometimes justifiable...but we won’t find a HC who will and has put more guards into the NBA.

During a timeout in the NBA game between Lakers and Portland there was a short segment on the draft. First guy in the video was Tyrese. Articulate young man, I can see why they put him first. My bias.

Jonathan Wasserman of Bleacher Reported updated his projections after the lottery and now has Tyrese going #6 to Atlanta. His blurb:

Tyrese Haliburton leapfrogged Cole Anthony and Nico Mannion on boards during the season, emerging as the most desirable NCAA point guard in this draft.
Given Trae Young's massive workload in Atlanta, the Hawks should be interested in adding a secondary playmaker like Haliburton.
He'd give Atlanta another elite-level passer to take pressure off Young and find teammates. After he shot 49.3 percent on spot-up jumpers, it's easy to picture him working off the ball alongside Young.
Maturity, IQ and shooting should also help Haliburton make a quick transition, another selling point for a team looking to start winning games.

I'd rather play in NY than Detroit... that's for sure.

Not many good choices for Tyrese to go to in that 6-10 range though.

I guess his family probably wouldn't mind Chicago since it would be close to home.... or Minny for that matter.

As a T-Wolves fan, I kinda think they should try to trade out of that #1 spot. I don't think anyone is a sure bet star in this draft at all. It's weak. Ball, Edwards, and Wiseman seem to be the consensus top 3 players, but I'm not that excited about any of them. They all have glaring weaknesses.

If the T-Wolves traded out, could they pick up another #1? That would give them 3 first round picks this year.

Maybe it’s because ISU was bad last year and I didn’t watch much basketball but I only recognize 3 of those names.
Not many picks from the blue bloods this year. Wiseman went to Memphis, but was ineligible. Might have played 1 game, that's why you've never seen him play.

Edwards - Georgia
Toppin - Dayton

My guess is that Minnesota swaps #1 and next years pick for Devin Booker and PHX gets the first pick. Maybe Minnesota gets #10 and take Tyrese.

I think ATL at #6 is where Tyrese starts getting interest. Best case scenario is GSW @2. I don't want him to fall. But 11-14 would be incredible for his long term success

I am not sure Devin Booker would be traded even for 2 firsts. His performance in the bubble was spectacular.

Please no to all of those...but if I had to pick I'd say the Hawks at 6. At least they have upside and he'd be fun next to Trae. His best realistic chance at success is falling to Spurs at 11.

Obviously Golden State at two is where everyone wants to go but they'll flip that pick and Wiggins for a star or take Wiseman and roll out an insane starting five in Curry, Thompson, Wiggins, Green and Wiseman.

Zach Lowe’s column today mentions what I see as the biggest issue for Golden State:

I’d love if GSW could trade down for future picks and take Haliburton, but there is SO MUCH uncertainty around free agency, the draft, and the salary cap that it seems unlikely.

Yeah, Phoenix is saying no to that. They finally are looking like they’ll compete for the playoffs and with a nice cap situation they’ll be looking to add veteran help rather than set themselves back.
