If I were a squawk fan I would be getting ready for 2 home losses in a row....

I talked to several panther fans who are licking their chops, they tell me that the squawks will be the 3rd best team in the state after next saturday....

One panther fan said simply, "We're gonna kick their A** come next saturday in Kinnick Stadium....

Sounds pretty darned confident to me.....

"Now That Will Be Entertainment"............

I was told the same thing this morning. My answer is even if the Panthers beat EIU by 50 the only thing that proves is that Iowa is lucky that they don't play Drake this year.

First thing I hear out of my Iowa fan/uni grad neighbor say after the game "looks like both teams are going to be bad" and "looks like uni will be the best team in the state". I use to have some smart comeback but it's not worth it. We both know he's a douchnozel.

No slap in the face. Why are you guys worried about what some 11th grade educated guy with a Hawkeye shirt has to say? Their opinions are as meaningless as the hair on a fly's belly.
Now if you want an expert opinion on the merits of cheap beer, mullet haircuts, or methods of picking lint from a belly button; that's when you call in experts in Hawkeye shirts.
None of these guys even attended the University of Iowa, let alone graduated. Why would you worry about what they talk about while the fumes of cheap malt liquor waft from their breath?

Been there, done that and then obtained wisdom

Don't waste your time arguing with those people.
If UNI wins, they'd tell you that UNI is the best team in the state.
If they beat UNI, they'd tell you that we got luck - that the hoks were having an "off-day".

Don't waste your time

What if UNI beats EIU and then Drake beats UNI? Well grandview almost beat drake so that would mean that the Mighty Grandview Vikings are better than the Squaks.....hahaha.

It is hard to remember the last time we lost to the hawks. We are on a winning streak and they better get used to it because our program is improving and their's is declining. I see several years of us owning them in all the major sports and it is great to be a CYCLONE!

These are the same people that think the word loose has something to do with wins and losses.

Must be something weird going on tonight...threads looking forward to 2013 and threads about the Hawks losing to UNI so they can take us down a few pegs. WTF is going on??? We beat the Hawks! There need to be more threads about our team and less threads about what Tavern Hawks are sayin'...

If UNI fans beat the Hoks, will UNI fans be happy or sad?

Since there are literally like 500-600 real UNI fans in existence, I would say that those folks will be pretty thrilled.

The standard UNI hawk, though, will be torn. The hawk part will die a little more inside, but the much much much smaller UNI part might be happy.

It's tough to say though.

I am just not sure that between hawk fans mcfarley and drunk pat mitchell, they will really allow themselves to actually win the game

Actually, it has become even funnier than all of this.

I was reading rivals hawk board, and went to the rivalry section, and these two genetic misfits started arguing that Iowa State only won because of the replay officials overturning Davis's TD.

You really can't make this stuff up.

I had someone at work tell me this same thing yesterday, couldn't believe it. I was ****** they were given a TD in the 1st place. Can't believe the refs didn't see he stepped out of bounds in real time. Very obvious.

I think in terms of success UNI has had at the level of competition they play, absolutely they are the best football team in the state. Are they they most talented team in the state? Absolutely not. However, I think they have proven throughout the past few years that they don't care and they will go toe to toe with the big boys and throw a few punches.

I wouldn't go so far as to say they are unequivocally the best team in the state.... The only way to determine that is if we went head to head with them.. The point of the thread isn't to take anything away from UNI, but to point out how hard U of I fans will go, to try and de-legitimize our victory over them, and to make themselves feel a little bit better...... I was pointing this out NOT because I am worried about it, but just to point it out as a bit of humor. I really don't take it as a slap to the face..... but most hawk fans think it IS.. without trying to be so obtuse.

I usually can't stomach Ferentz but he said early on after the game that his guy clearly stepped out. No doubt he knew the fan base would be crying over that. Obviously didn't help much.

I dont think iowa fans realize that we should have dominated them. We did everything we could to hand them the game and they still didnt pull it off

this. It would be like us complaining about the nebraska game where they turned it over 8 times or whatever if we had somehow lost.
