Cam Robinson just beat Jesse Vasquez 17-3. Vasquez was a top 15 pound for pound recruit out of high school last year (but is listed as a 141 and not 149)

We’ll see how it goes. I’m not feeling so hot about it. Not sure what you’ve seen that gives you so much confidence. Guessing ISU loses some matches they shouldn’t.
I'm excited for Cam going forward whenever Degen hangs it up. Cam I think has a few more tools to use in the future that will serve him well.

I see us favored in 4 of 10 matches - 141, 149, 157, and 285. I think that 165, 174, 184 and 197 are toss-ups. The remaining 2 matches - 125 and 133 we are not favored, but I think that they are winnable. If things were to all tilt our way it could be an overwhelming victory. Unless there is a huge upset, but UNI gets all of the toss-ups, we still lose about 13-18, but that is if they get all of the breaks. I could be all wet with this, but that is why the wrestle the matches. Either way, I will be watching and enjoying that we have wrestling this year!
Valencia looked like crap in both matches, but lateral dropped both
133, I hoped Redding realizes that he better be able to work out of a 2 on 1 the whole match. Stall tactic by Biscoglia
I think hvy is more of a tossup. Isley will be prepared for Gremmel’s BS stall ride drop to a leg nonsense.
Cory has been 133 since wrestle-offs. Terukina was injured his last match. May go against UNI but doubt it. No problem with the way they are handling 197. I’m sure they will wrestle Coleman against UNI which is not a toss-up. Bastida doesn’t give up that early TD that match may end differently. Both guys need 4 DI matches to qualify for a WIldcard, if needed.
That’s Sam’s 2nd match since last year. It wss against a 6’3 kid that stalled the last two periods. The UNI match will be a better indicator of where he is. This isn’t the first time something like this has happened to Judge. Not sure if he has shown the ability to learn from his mistakes. That should not happen in your 3rd year of college.
I don’t see any reason to wrestle Bastida more this year. He got some experience in a throw away year which is great. Has way too many weaknesses to even stand a chance at qualifying. Coleman could qualify.
If we win 184 i would be surprised. Keckeisen is very solid. He layed it on the ASU kid

Reeves hasn’t been the same since his injury. My son said he couldn’t do certain things in wrestling when he came back. Another friend whose son was state champ as a junior wasn’t the same after his also.
Big win for Redding. Really needed that one.
