Personally I think there's a LITTLE cheating going on, not a lot. But you don't play in a terrible conference like they do and get 5 star recruits over and over and over. The only team I can think of that does this is Memphis, but Memphis is in a better conference than UNLV

The Mountain West is not a terrible conference for basketball. It was considered better than the Big 12 last year. I would pull for UNLV over any ACC or Big 10 team any day.

I am not going to worry too much about recruiting. CFH seems to be able to put together a pretty competitive team each year and he already has a good base.

The mountain west is not a terrible conference at all. They got 5 teams in the dance last year and while we hate to admit it UNLV did beat us last year and had the number one pick in the draft. I live out here so I hear the UNLV homers everyday but they are a program that is gaining steam and who I think will be our top competition for Vaughn.

Cubs you've disappointed me for someone who I thought knew a little something about NCAA basketball. Maybe you should use your Rivals subscription and do some learning outside the Big 12.

As for the cheating accusations. All I can do is smile. Don't give us that KU treatment..."we're only UNLV" :spinny:

The Mountain West was considered a good conference until it was exposed in the tournament. They outsmarted the RPI system and nobody noticed until they fell flat on their face against the likes of Harvard.

To be fair, the Big 12 didn't exactly shine in the tournament last year either

Yup, MWC dropped the ball in the tourney. Especially that UNM loss.

However, New Mexico did go into Cincy and beat a top 10 team at the time in their own building...(the same team you lost to on neutral court.)

Colorado St. beat former Big 12 Missouri in the first round...
San Diego St. beat Oklahoma by 15 in the first round.
We beat you by 12 with 2 freshman, 2 transfers and 3rd string center.

I don't get this Big 12 superior talk. You have Kansas...which puts you over the top. Baylor was good with vegas kid Jackson. Other than that I don't see many teams that would be favorites or even top 3 in the MWC.

In fact, since 2010, Big 12 is 14-19 vs MWC teams.

OSU is a top 10-15 team this year.

Great, you beat us, who made it further in the tourney? Who has more tourney wins in the last 2 years? We do 2-0. Do you want to talk about more records that dont matter? How about who has more tourney wins in the last 15 years? We do 6-3. none of this stuff matters to Vaughn. If you dont understand that the big12 has a better television contract and more exposure (things that do matter) or that Ames is well within driving distance of the twin cities (so his parents can see him play every home game in person) then I dont know what to tell you.

And Colorado St beat Missouri seriously what the **** does that have to do with this argument? That is like saying Sacred Heart beat Stony Brook. It has no relevance on this discussion.

i dont understand your argument here?? good job you went futher in the tourney. does that change the fact you got blown out in vegas by UNLV? Is home court worth 12 point? You didnt even play against khem birch (MWC player of the year). does ISU going farther in the tournament make you a better team? dude your in the big 12 not the big ten the only team worth will in your conf is Kansas. So stop with your ******** attitude about how your in such a great conf.

What's your argument? You beat us last year in November so you were automatically better? Does that mean that Fresno State was better than you last year since you lost to them twice?

my point was that past results do not matter. recruits do not care what happened last year or, with the exception of the blue bloods (which neither of us are), how rich your history was a decade ago. top recruits care about a few things and exposure is one of them. how many national games did you play last year? how many do you play this year? can vaughn play every home game at unlv in front of his parents without them moving?

The big12 has 105 games televised MWC has 31. Iowa State has 16 games on the espn family of networks with 2 being only available online. UNLV has 5 games with 3 only available online.
