Well you asked and Jake Knott delivered...multiple times.

Jake got a LOT of playing time tonight on defense and on the punt team. Not to mention numerous close ups on the NFL Network. We'll see how he looks in these next couple of games, but he is no ordinary UFA. But it looks from tonight like the Eagles have landed themselves the best deal since pawning off that bag of rocks from Tranquility Base.

Watching Jake take down Tebow tonight just made me miss him all the more. Announcers liked his intense eyes examining the formation. They have shown Jake on Sportscenter several times when they were talking about Tebow struggling.

"Want a dark-horse candidate to make the Eagles' roster? Rookie free agent linebacker Jake Knott wouldn't be a bad bet. The Iowa State product was always around the ball, showed better tackling skills than Eagles making a lot more money and had three tackles, a pass defended and a sack. He might stick."

I remember when Rhoads first start at ISU and he commented on how bad the teams tackling fundamentals were at the time, thanks Gene. It's good see that those days are over with.

Jake looked good out there last night. I was at the bar watching it so I didn't get to hear what they were saying about him. Noticed they kept zooming in on him/had to be talking about him. Very cool. The Eagles brass will have him on the roster.

So if he does not make the team how many free agents get picked up by other teams? Are you basically screwed if you do not make your first team?

Another reason he is likely to stick is the fact he has to be a special teams monster as well with his nose for the ball.

Not sure if serious or if you are pulling a Clones21 impression . . .

I'll assume this is an honest question. Many, many players bounce around between teams and are signed after other teams cut them or signed off of other teams practice squads. This is a common occurrence in the league. As long as Jake is healthy and productive in preseason (as he was last night), he should get looks for this year and next at minimum.

Did anyone get any great photos they can post of Knott taking down Tebo?? Would love to find that to shove in a Tebo-homers face!

As long as he stays healthy I'd be amazed if he wasn't at the very least on somebody's practice squad. His shoulder was why he wasn't drafted, not his abilities.

Jake Knott: The undrafted rookie looked pretty comfortable, and was always around the football, finishing with four tackles and half a sack. Coaches spoke very fondly of him after the game, stating that this is the way he’s been throughout camp. He’s gotten the team’s attention in a good way, and has three more games to make that impression even stronger.

Jake Knott had a very strong preseason debut for the Eagles on Friday night. The undrafted rookie out of Iowa State recorded four total tackles, a half-sack, two hits on the quarterback and a pass deflection against the Patriots. On Monday, Knott had another strong outing. On one particular play, he got his hand on a Matt Barkley pass and deflected it up in the air.

None of this surprises me. Way to go Jake!

Chip Kelly saying good things about Jake. Starts around 8:50 mark

Head Coach Chip Kelly

That is big time, right there. Philly reporters already asking about him specifically, Kelly has only positive things to say. Pleased with his performance "as a staff" against the Patriots. Sounds like a lock to make the roster to me!

Just doing a quick search on twitter for Jake Knott. Sounds like a couple of guys that got cut, improve his chances.

Most believe 2/3 stay on the roster.
