+1 I would be surprised if Lucca and DG didnt start...and there is no difference between a 1 and 2, a 2 doesnt necessarily need to be a good shooter

He will but should not IMO. Unless of course he makes actual solid improvement and not just preseason McD coach speak trying to legitimize him being in the starting rotation.
The guy missed time before the season and had a bum knee. With that said he was still our only outside shot and was our second best scoring option. And he was a pretty good passer.
With good PG play, Lucca can be a huge weapon
He probably will start, but it will be a bad sign. I think on a good team he is a situational player or a starter on team with tremendous players at the other four spots, which is clearly not ISU. Thus far in his career he is so one-dimensional, and not consistent with that. Unless his game does change, I hope he subs in for the 3 spot, or when we have no choice but to put another 3-point shooter on the court. I would like to see a rotation of:
Colvin, Buck, Garret, Thames, Scotty seeing time at the 1 and 2.
MG at the 3, with Lucca and maybe Garret seeing time here in a three guard line-up.
Dendy, Hamilton, JVB, and maybe even MG filling the 4 and 5. If MG can't play in the post, LA moves up.
If we sign a JUCO power wing, I think that is a sign we are going to try to go with a more unconventional style of play, with most of the game with only one true post, similar to Ok-State.
JVB was probably our best 3 point shooter. He just wasn't on the floor as much as Lucca.
JVB did start to get into a grove at the end of the season. Unfortunately his strength is not defense or stopping a layup. Hopefully he will develop some D in the off season.
I am excited to see Ham get some muscle in those legs so he can carry that extra weight over the last 9 months that he has gained. I predict he will be the diamond in the rough before he is done at ISU. I really like his effort and believe he is more athletic than most think...remember when he jumped over Abrams(sp?). If he gets some leg strength to get down court, he will be a tough matchup for the other team, if he has some D.

okay, so you are going to leave the team with just one ball handler on the floor at a time like the last couple of years? Diante needs help, and Lucca is not athletic enough, strong enough with the ball, and lacks ball handling to be an effective guard. Look at our best pt guards, they had a good backcourt mate. Ron Bayless had Thigpen, Jacy Holloway had Willoughby, Tinsley had Horton and Nurse, and Blalock had Stinson.
He was playing on a 3/4 tear of a meniscus. Speaking from personal experience, that's hard to walk on, let alone play basketball on.
Exactly. IMO, look at KSU's back court. Arguably Clemente and Pullen are point guards who look to score, and it worked pretty well for them.
Well, I'm supposed to be a freshman, but I'm in senior level math, junior level english, Junior level Science, and the rest of the classes are at least a sophomore level.

wow, I tore my meniscus in old mans basketball league back in late January and I'm just not getting over it. It would pretty much ruin a season.
You do have to factor in that these courses are at Columbus Junction though :biglaugh:

Thats what we do...Jump to conclusions and then reality sets in and we jump to conclusions about who will start over who next year....
I am no exception, I don't see him starting next year...
