I know, I know, everyone wants to blast a powerhouse for storming the field, and it is fun. But honestly this just proves the point why college football is the greatest game ever. When you go to school there, it truly is "us against them" weather or not you are on the field, it's your school, your friends, your classmates, that's what college football is all about and why I love it so much. At the same time I hate it though, because it's not us storming the field.

ISU fans should/would be rushing the field just to have 1/2 the athleticism Stanford or USC's athletes had, especially on the lines. It's funny because a lot of the teams that have a lot of tradition, but are marginal this year (USC, Nebraska, Michigan, etc.) still have 7+ wins and athletes that would work ISU in the same fashion that an average OU team did today.

That tells me that ISU either really hasn't progressed in their talent, or the coaching staff hasn't fully assessed what they can do with what they have to work with. Either way, things have to change dramatically.

I can't think of any year in which I've looked more forward to ISU basketball in November, and I don't even expect a great season out of this team, despite the excitement/potential from two early wins.

Rushing is about what the current students have seen in their time at a school. Current USC students have seen teams playing for nothing, and losing games they "shouldn't" have lost. This win basically brings USC back to relevance and represents they might be back on track.

I'm betting if we beat Michigan tomorrow, the students storm the court. If I'm wrong I'm a terrible person and hate ISU. Fine.

So everyone nit-picking on this really dumb topic, what games are we justified to storm against?

I was there in 12 too. And I agree. It just shows the state of USC, because that never would have happened a few years ago.

A few years ago Stanford wasn't top dog who had taken out Oregon 2 years running. What other freakin team could beat Oregon 2 years in a row?

USC beat a top 5 team the same year their program bottomed out and they fired a coach. Fair play. If Stanford wasn't a legit top 5 team the BCS would have Baylor above them.

The Pac 12 is the second best conference and it isnt' close. Stanford is top dogs. Its a lot closer to the SEC than #3 is to it (ACC, Big Ten, and Big 12 are pretty even this year unlike the media I think the Big 12 and Big Ten are completely even in fact Big 12 could be better and is outside OSU and the ACC is seriously horrid after FSU and Clemson.)

I have no clue why David Shaw would want that complete ***** and crybaby snitch Martin on his sidelines soaking up the ESPN spotlight though and drawing attention to himself. Deserved to lose for that.

I'm going to rush the field when (if) we beat North Dakota State next year. It's going to be a party in Ames!

Rag on these kids all you want, but these students were not alive when Marcus Allen was crushing Pac 10 Ds. They were in elementary when Reggie Bush, Matt Linehart, and Mike Williams were destroying everyone. They deserve to enjoy it. I hate it when people harp this stuff. This is what college football is all about. Do I think that they should have? No, but **** let them enjoy it tonight. Will people be saying the same thing if Cyclone Alley rushed the court tomorrow?

Was more of a statement about how weird it was to see a football dynasty like USC storm the field against Stanford, not against storming the field altogether. I could care less about storming a field/court and watching the fans have fun. That being said, great teams' fans don't storm for the reason that they expect to win. I want to see ISU get to the point that we are more upset about a loss than excited about a win. Doubt I'll see that happen in football, but it doesn't mean I can't dream.

in 1995, ISU fans rushed the field and tore down the goal posts after beating Ohio...not tOSU...Ohio.

I was there for that game. We called it the toilet bowl, since both teams were winless the year before. 1994 was probably the worst team in ISU history.
