It was ******* pathetic. Montgomery averaged 5 yards per carry un the first half and we gained 95 yards on 30 passing plays with 2 intercerceptions. So what do we do? 3 fucjing caries for montgomery in the secind half.

But, when your qb is running for his life and completing 50% of his passes, i guess any any coach would abandon a running game.

This is gold. Exactly what it looked like to me.

Was it just me or were we aggressive when we didn't need to be, and we were conservative when we should have been aggressive.

For example, on our very first drive of the game, 3rd and 1, and we drop back to pass and get sacked. We had like 3 different 3rd and 1's against Iowa and threw on all of them too. Why? Just stupid.

And then tonight we punt several times inside their 40 yd line. Wut?

Crowd was pretty good to start, but that 3rd and 1 sack, followed by the stupid play by Bailey doing a snow angel for some unknown reason (embarrassing) and from then on it was basically a morgue in Jack Trice tonight. Mostly due to coaching IMO, and lack of control by your players. Just typical Cyclone stuff going back decades, and now being carried forward by yet another staff.

Texas was obviously head and shoulders above any defense we've faced this year, not even a comparison.

Reminded me of the **** show that was the West Virginia game last year.

I was never as impressed with the coaching last year as everyone else. I thought the first few games were inexcusable. It improved greatly later, but the West Virginia game was a ******* giant step back.

This year, I've had no complaints until tonight. Tom manning needs to watch these two games and make sure he fixes it. It's his problem.

And park was terrible tonight. Just god awful.

A CPR team would of lost this game 38-7. I'm actually pleasantly surprised at how well our D played tonight being on the field for 2/3 of the game and getting the ball ran right up the gut constantly.

Except that rhoads team beat Texas 24-0 with a lot of,the same players. Oops.

Our OL was clearly overmatched and they got in Park's head. Our margin for error is just too thin to be that poor in execution when physically outmanned. The bright side is that we will win some more games if the defense plays that well the rest of the year and keeps improving. I think the playbook was really getting shrunk on Manning as he tried things that got shut down by Texas, Give credit to them. They stared down Park and dared him to beat them and he and the offensive line choked.

Don't you worry. We'll give Manning time to learn on the job...

Same old crap. It is all about QB play. You can not give away downs with poor throws or poor decisions. This has killed us over the years. Park had been a significant improvement this year, but he was bad last night. Against a talented team, you can not have only one or two well executed plays out of three. You will never sustain a series.

1-one of the most poorly called offensive games in recent years...and that's saying something (elite RB not getting the ball 10 times????)

2-we now know why Park plays here and not at a top football program (and despite how that sounds, it's not intended to be a dig...he's just not that great)

3-our defense deserves extreme for keeping us in the game

4-texas was beatable

our coaches did NOTHING to help. They should have had short passes to the flats to help. If we're going to run 3-4 guys down field, dump a few short and make them play you up. In-game strategy seemed to be limited and they were hell-bound to stick to their plan, despite knowing it wasn't working.

The main things that hurt me to watch, Oline play, Montgomery not getting his touches, Park forcing passes when nothing was there (throw the damn thing away....), and anytime we were executing the intermediate passes and very seldom positive runs mixed in, we suddenly took the angle of lets throw 2-3 deep passes and ruin the potential momentum shift, working those long passes in to keep them honest is one thing but when something is working stick with it..... Very disappointing end on a lot of those drives....

The staff is not very good and their lack of experience really shows. They have a hard time making adjustments as the game goes on. Defense finally made an adjustment midway through the 3rd to start sending the LB's on blitz's, but it was too late.
