CMC likes recruiting. Or has said as much in the past. I am not predicting anything just stating what he's said.

Yeah he definitely seems to appreciate that side of the job.

Imo he may need to come out with another polite way of saying STFU about this for now to let the focus be on KU.

Surprised there wasn't something yesterday. Not that it means anything but staying hush hush doesn't help either.

He certainly won't say anything without being prompted. He will be back next year and I'll take anybody's money that wants to part with it via. a bet. :)

First odds released on next Browns coach:
https://247sports.com/nfl/cleveland...ncoln-Riley-Sean-McVay-123989568/#123989568_5

Spoiler - there is a guy named Campbell listed...
Half of the guys listed have a 0% chance of getting an offer or taking the job.

McVay would be an IDIOT to leave the LA Rams for the Browns.
Leave an elite college job for the worst job in the pros? No way. (Harbaugh, Riley)
Bill Belichick?! He HATES the Browns.

My money is on Dave Toub, Special Teams Coordinator for the Chiefs. Andy Reid coaching tree and he knows the Cleveland GM since he was in KC a couple years ago.

Randy Pete is probably just triggered as can be right now, probably called and texted CMC at 3 AM.

I'd be pissed if he goes...3 years in a football program is awfully short if it's all about the process.

I'd keep my eye on DeFilippo. He's had a pretty good track record with QBs, and I think he would be a good fit for Baker.

P.S. I'm a huge Vikings fan and at this point just hoping they go with DeFilippo over CMC :)

Color me old school, but I bet his wife plays more of a decision over money. You can call me foolish all you want, but I think I may be 51% spot on. If Erica (and the 4 kids) like Ames, he stays. Erica was a huge part of Coach coming to here. If she wants to raise the kids here, they stay. If she thinks she can raise the kids in Cleveland just as well, then he'll go. Carol was tired of being in Ames. They were set financially, but Carol was ready for a change of scenery.

It's not just our houses that husband and wife's make decisions together. It happens in their house too!

Texas thanks you for your service to the Big 12 and to Texas but big time boosters in Texas have decided that Matt Campbell will be leaving and they have the perfect plan. See you in a few weeks!

So? Last I checked, Albert Breer doesn't decide if CMC leaves or stays. Campbell has made it clear over and over and over that he wants to build something special here and win championships. He likes it here. I'm taking his word for it because I think he's a stand up guy.
What you're saying is exactly what I was alluding to in an earlier post, and I think you're spot on. Plus the fact he hasn't beaten Texas or Kansas State, (YET), and then there's the small matter of that TOE. I totally agree the guy is a competitor and likes challenges, but he's no quitter, and he's not going to half-ass it. He hasn't gotten the championship yet, he hasn't achieved all his goals, no way is he leaving us yet. I won't believe it until I see it.

I would be upset as a fan, but as a player I would be pissed. Especially with the building something special and just getting started mantra. We shall see I suppose. I personally think he stays for at least two more years. What I think it boils down to is what his wife and kids want to do. If they are happy here, and we keep offering him raises, then what's to make him leave? If shes ready to go back home and the kids like the idea, then I think it's very possibly bye bye. Either way we have a great foundation going, and I'm so excited for the future of the program.

My theory: The Cleveland thing (big NFL money), is simply to scare off the Marylands & etc. until Urban Meyer has his last season next year.

To speculate that CMC could or would leave, to me, is an insult to his character. These media folk do it to get noticed, regardless of being viewed as ignorant. If I were in Campbells shoes, and someone in the media, like Kirk Herbstreit, said I was leaving without ever having spoken with me or even been to Ames, I would be pissed off and call them out. But that's me. Campbell has more much more class than I do lol

You're really concerned about what happens when CMC stays, aren't you?
