What a great episode. Really liked Dale and how he stood up for his beliefs. This is why I like this show so much. It's fake because it involves zombies but brings up good moral dilemmas and what would you do?

That's a shame, as Dale was one of my favorites. He finally got a solid episode and he gets killed off. Now, someone that has read the comics can correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought Dale was one of the few characters that is still actually around in the comics. If true, they're either going away from the comics or there's a reason why we didn't actually see him shot (though they did show the burial in the previews?)

I kind of understand why they killed him off, though. He was the lone remaining voice of reason and humanity in the group, and I bet with his death, a lot of the other members of the group will use that as their "rallying cry" to bring humanity more into the group.

Exactly. You can pretty much guarantee that they wont execute that kid now.

I didn't like him. This isn't normal life anymore. Rules really don't apply, it's a dog eat dog world and people need to be aggressive. IMO of course. Shane has got part of it right, Rick has the other part.

I disagree. The difference between us and animals is our ability to reason, understand emotion and have compassion for others. Are there times to be agressive? Absolutely. The situation in the bar comes to mind. But a cold-blooded murder is still a murder, even if there's no court or trial to punish you for it.

I think Rick is probably second guessing the whole pregnancy thing right now. The first kid is being a pain in the butt.

I was expecting Dales death next season. In the comics he gets bitten while the are at the prison, so this episode wasn't to far off from the comics.

So who is going to be the voice of mortality now that Dale bit the dust? Interesting that Andrea broke her unspoken alliance with Sean, but i don't see her being a voice of reason. Glen and Lorie are too quite of characters rattle the cage of the group. Dayrl is an interesting choice, the whole last words Dale ever spoke were directed at him, but personally i don't see him think of others anytime soon.

I was thinking Daryl. Not only were Dale's last words spoken to him but they were Daryl's words. I'm sure his death will have an impact on him. He's been quiet lately and I hope he ends his little vacation soon.

Dale seems ideally placed to continue being the voice of mortality, after all he is dead. Sean and Dayrl also could make the cut as they must have been characters who died very early in the show. I can't quite remember who exactly they are.

:skeptical:

As soon as that kid shot at a member of the group, he deserved to die. They should have put a bullet in the kid's head when his leg had a spike through it. They still would have been doing him a favor by killing him quick instead of letting the zombies have at him. Bringing him back to the farm was a stupid move.
