Can't wait to see next week's "Night of the Living Dead" style zombie raid on the farmhouse. Should be awesome.

So glad they finally killed off Shane. His character was great at first but it was getting so repetitive, and his motivations for his actions didn't even make sense anymore at this point.
Shane kinda rubbed me the wrong way but he was growing on me. I think the actor did such a great job of continually losing it as each week went by. You knew there was going to be a final confrontation between Shane and Rick at some point.

Great episode. The lulling pace of the first half of the season has been building to crazy action and drama of these last four episodes.

I love how they aren't afraid to kill off main characters, although Shane made it farther than I thought he would and Dale was earlier than I expected.

The virus is airborne and they are all infected. They had been laying the groundwork for this with all the "hey, these guys have no bites" observations.

They are building up to an Apocalyptic wave of zombies descending on the farmhouse in classic zombie movie fashion. It will certainly be an epic fight and the survivors will need to 'get out of dodge' and once again be on the road looking for a new 'home' for the start of season three.

Who will go down in this farmhouse fight? I am thinking maybe T-Dog and one of the other "yeoman smith" types with Hershel at the farm, like Patricia.

Shane's character was great, but his plan to kill rick was not a good one. I was really hoping they would have just straightened out on the same path but I guess this beats Shane leaving to another group and I have to hate him for betraying the group.

If they are all infected, then what is the point? They are all going to become zombies eventually, and their is no chance of rebuilding the human race, unless they have a hint to finding a cure.

Everyone should be killed off except for Rick, the redneck guy who is the good zombie killer, maybe Laurie because they need some women around, maybe the other chick in the farmhouse and Herschel. Can keep Glen I suppose. And you can keep Rick's wife and Carl.

T-bone, the chick that looks like Sinead Oconner, Herschel blonde daugheter. All have to go, and there are more characters coming I am sure.

That is the good thing, a show like this, you just add characters as they run into them on the apocolypic highway.

Not necessarily. It would just be a lot harder. You would have to kill all the existing zombies and then keep careful watch over when people die to shoot them in the head afterwards.

Just a simple maintenance plan. No biggie.

I was just talking with a friend of mine about how he didn't really seem to think that plan through very well. Although he was going a little crazy at that point so that might have contributed.

I really think that Rick is immune. He is the "key." Somehow, someway when he was in that state (coma) he was not affected like the rest of civilization. (Perhaps they will get all "biblical" in a sense and he will be a key to finding the cure.)
I think that is what the doc said to him in season one - per his blood test. I don't think the doc said anything to Rick about everyone else being infected either....(when the others die they become walkers without being bitten.) Which explains that Rick didn't know that yet... Example: Looking for ways to kill the prisoner/kid....why would Rick hang him if he knew that he would turn into a zombie?

And what of the baby? Could it be immune? (If it is indeed Rick's) - Or will it be infected? (Shane's) Lori sucks... she could be done in by the "zombie baby."

I really think that Rick is immune.

I have not read the graphic novels, so this is just pure speculation.

Riffing off the comments above, I think Rick may be immune to the virus as well and I bet he's that way because he was receiving blood transfusions in the hospital during the main outbreak?

This second half of the season has been riveting TV and a pleasure to watch. My only regret is that the episodes aren't twice as long.

why can't they just get in tractors and vehicles and just run the zombies over. just speed right threw them all. Heck if I had a truck I or a modern tractor I could have a hay day.

Tractors take fuel.

Get a tractor with a sickle bar to mow / slow them down. Then run them over with a second tractor while they are lying on the ground trying to get up on their bloody stumps.

So, what you are saying is they should be looking for a John Deere plant next to a gas tanker?
