Question: why do scientific types always have to be portrayed in varying degrees as inward-focused introverts lacking social skills? Eugene. Milton. The CDC doc in season 1. The guys on TBBT. Hell, even Indiana Jones turned into a noodge as soon as he set foot back on campus.

Let's hear it for sexy swashbuckling scientists...they're out there somewhere!

At least the CDC doc was married and presumably had sex with a woman at some point in his lifetime. A huge advantage over Eugene and Milton.

I think since it's based loosely on a comic book it draws a lot from extreme character types.

I agree it would be nice to have a particularly smart character who is also not a total dork.

It's interesting about the "cure." What kind of dialog is going to be brought up with Eugene around. How he knows, what he knows, etc.... I mean, at the CDC we learned that everyone is infected. Well, how? Was it magical and (poof!) everyone just had it due to "end-of-days/biblical stuff?" Or, was it a disease that started from somewhere? Some stupid monkey perhaps? This is what I want to finally know.

Oh, I believe it. I have been waiting for some Doctor/Scientist person to come along. But, I guess the guy could be full of it or indeed, crazy. Who knows!?

I thought it sucked when they killed off Milton. He was someone who was actually trying to figure out something about the walkers. Even if it's just to find new and creative ways of dispatching them. For example, the wind turbine that drew walkers into the pit was smart. Morgan using live bait to draw walkers into traps was smart too.

For some reason when they were in the prison they didn't try to do anything to prevent the buildup on the fences other than just using brute force and trying to clear as many as they could a day. I know it's supposed to be a plot device but the survivors best weapon should be that they are smarter than the walkers, because they will always be outnumbered.

Another scientific breakthrough would be if they found some sort of repellent or some sort of poison that would kill walkers and hopefully NOT survivors.

Yeah. It makes me wonder if gutting some walkers in a perimeter around a settlement would help deter a herd at all. It would stink and possibly be unhealthy but if done at a safe distance, I dunno.

Yeah I agree. Probably not be worth it. Still be interesting if they could find another deterrent.

When they do reunite and Carol is with Tyrese and Judith, I'm pretty pumped to see Rick's reaction. Is he grateful that she helped save Judith or does he tell Tyrese what she did???? Could be quite intense.

My guess is bygones be bygones. They will have all sorts of new issues to deal with.

Its not like it was an easy decision for Rick to drop Carol off. She reluctantly understood his issue as well.

And it would seem that everyone on the show forgot about that little trick. That irritates me to no end. You can't just show this work in one episode and then never ever employ the tactic again. Big ****** error in the show in my opinion.

A lot of stuff from the first couple episodes got abandoned. Remember how the walkers could climb fences and attempt to turn doorknobs in the beginning? Thats all gone, theyve taken their intelligence down about 20 notches. Biggest difference is thanks to AMC pushing Darabont out and giving us Mazzara, which was (imo) an awful decision.

That was the only thing that came close. But not once have we seen a group say "hey we are going on a run" and slather themselves up with walker guts. That would be the first thing I did. And wear some ******* body armor. You live in a prison, there has to be riot gear everywhere.
