We have started to DVR the episodes and start watching them about a half hour after the initial episode start. I found myself wanting to fast forward through the episode yesterday. It just didn't appeal to me like Glenn's cliffhanger.

I have gone to DVR for TWD also. AMC commercials just cannot be watched anymore. Much more enjoyable to let the show get 20 minutes ahead, and then just blow through it.

Count me in the group that liked the episode. The Eastman character was outstanding. Maybe 90 minutes was too long, but difficult to introduce and kill off a character in one show and make anyone care unless you spend a little depth.

This is how I have been watching the show the last few seasons.

I enjoyed the episode but it would have been more enjoyable for me if they would have spend 10 or 20 mins in the current timeline, just inch that story along a little.

for those needing explosions and gore to keep you entertained... Try reading the above link. It tells the details many would have forgotten about, and how those details came to be.

This was a great episode... and the writing for TWD is second to only BB, IMO.

second only ever? You're on an island with that opinion.

also, this episode was too long for just one story. I don't mind the stand a lone episodes but this was very bad timing for an episode like this. It was a good episode but you can't go from all of the stuff that happened in last weeks episode and then just ignore it completely this week.

edit to add: I don't know how anyone can stand to watch this show live

Man, animals don't have a good track record on this show. I would like to see at least one survive somehow.

I have to chuckle at all the people who think 90 minutes was too long...like you all had something better to do Sunday night than watch an extra 30 minutes of TWD.

The one that bothered me was the horse in the pen last season. Somehow this horse has survived in this pen for 2-3 years, but suddenly when they show up it dies at that time. It irritated me for some reason. I also like horses, so that may feed into my internet rage as well.

It was too much time to suck from a very limited episode season. If this was supernatural or some other terrible show with 30 episode seasons, than no big deal. To me, it would be like game of thrones spending a whole episode pouring over the backstory of Alister Throne or Margery Tyrell on the first episode of the next season. Slightly interesting but not enough to take all that time from the season and annoying considering the main concerns going on in the story.

Yeah, that bugged me too. Killed by human stupidity. It was an allegory about Darryl or something I think. Didn't need to kill a horse to get your point across.

You indirectly bring up a point I hadn't thought about. The wildlife would attract walkers like crazy. Squirrels and deer and even domestic pets. Seeing a walker grinding on a tree as a squirrel sits and watches it from 10 feet up would probably be a common sight.

I blame fans for this hour and a half Morgan episode. Their obsession with him for all these seasons brought this on. Wish the backstory would have only been half the show but oh well.

Could have easily been done with flashbacks within the main plot line.

Anyone suppose the guy Eastman killed is a zombie in the ground? He didn't know about people turning then, and may have buried him immediately after his death without braining him. When he went to turn himself in the apocalypse had already started.

I actually really liked the episode. Thought it was needed to understand how morgan acts and i feel him and carol are going to but heads a lot over the killing/not killing issue.

Anyone else think that Eastman sounded like "the dude" when Morgan was trying to take the goat? i half expected morgan to find him drinking a white russian inside.

90 minutes wasn't enough to make me care. I thought the character was hokey.

Yeah, but if you don't watch TWD live, you don't get to see the commercials for all AMC's other shows that you can watch which will also have many many commercials about other AMC shows...

I felt bad for Tabitha, but she needed to learn how to shut the hell up.
