Does it just take a picture and put it in PDF form? How does it work?

I use CamScanner. It's a free app, and works really well. The cropping of the scanned receipt is seamless. It also lets you export scanned receipts/documents in a couple of different formats. For my work receipts I upload them to my dropbox account from within the app as PDFs so they're backed up, then I email the office with the PDFs. I've also used the app to send faxes as well, though that costs $1 a page.

What do you do when you have to return something or you got double charged?

I'd be interest to hear the last time you got double charged. The computers at stores don't allow that much anymore.

Fossil tri-fold wallet that I've had for about 6 years and carry in my back right pocket.
3x debit cards (two are plasma donation debit cards, only one of which is still active)
DL
2x health insurance cards (apparently never ditched the old one when I changed plans)
2x car insurance cards (see above)
Casey's gift card
Fuel Saver card
5x pocket schedules for various UI sports (only one is current)
Hotel key that I never threw away from 2012 Big Ten Media Day in Chicago
14x business cards from various people/establishments
2x Iowa basketball ticket stubs (2011 Purdue upset and 2012 Wisconsin game when Gatens dropped 33 points)

At this point, I think I keep **** in there because the pockets have stretched to fit everything and I'm worried stuff will fall out if I empty it out a little. Either that, or I'm just a hoarder on the go.

Read through this quickly. Impressed by all the responses, must have been a slow day at work...

Only saw one "billfold" among all the "wallets". My dad (born and raised in NE Iowa) used to call his a "pocketbook". When I was little, I thought he was saying "pock-a-book". Seriously.

But now I say "wallet"; mine has a credit card, two ATM cards, a WellMark insurance card, the roadside assistance card from Allied, a gift card with $18 left on it, a Choice Privileges card, my trusty ISU LifeMember Alumni card (great hotel discounts - booyah!), and the ubiquitous HyVee Fuel Saver card.

No cash. These are hard times.

Lastly, I also carry in my wallet a shopping list my mom wrote out by hand a few days before she died. If I ever get mugged, they can everything but that.

Word.

I've never had a problem with credit cards and mine has a pretty strong magnet (to hold all my cash:skeptical:) but hotel key cards will get ruined if I get it anywhere close.

This x 100. I don't know how many times I have had to drag myself to the front desk, sometimes drunk and under-clothed, to get a new key made.

I have the Smallet from Duluth Trading.

http://m.duluthtrading.com/store/product/small-wallet-mens-fire-hose-smallet-19507.aspx

Perfect size for me. Fits ID, a couple credit/debit cards, and insurance cards. The middle opens for some cash. Carrying anything more is unnecessary for me.

And I switch it up. Generally it's in back right pocket as its so small you don't notice it's there. But because I don't notice it's there I sometimes put it in front pocket.

I wore out the pockets of a lot of dress pants and dockers with my wallet in my back right pocket. So now I switch it up and put it in my left back pocket about half of the time.. It was weird at first but I have grown accustomed to it. I don't like a wallet in my front pocket when I sit down. I know that you aren't supposed to do this in case you are carjacked, but I usually put my wallet and phone in the console of my car when I drive.

Literally the last wallet you'll ever need..

Amen...that's my exact wallet. Made in old mexico, right? (says that under the id opening)

Where does your cash go?

There's a pocket in the middle. It doesn't hold much, but really, unless you're carrying for something specific, who needs a lot of cash anymore? I can get $75 in there (fresh from the ATM with 3 20's and 3 5's, I don't think I'd get 15 $5's in there). I also carry mine in my front pocket.

I like that. If I ever need a new one I think I'll get it. I like the I State one posted earlier too but, as I said earler, those magnetic ones (which I have now) reek havoc on hotel key cards.

Try a receipt scanning app, so much better than carrying paper receipts. I started doing this recently when I travel for work and its nice not to have to worry about misplacing a receipt.

I use CamScanner (free) and you can email .jpg or .pdfs of the scanned receipt to yourself.
When I expense anything for work I have to turn in the real receipts. No scans or copies allowed.

I don't have a magnetic wallet but it wouldn't matter to the hotel key cards if I did. I always put the key card in my money clip when I stay at a hotel so it is in an entirely different pocket anyway.

As long as we are talking about hotel stays I want to throw out a question a little off of topic: Going down to the lobby for continental breakfast in your jammies (assuming you wear them), okay or not okay?
