Yeah, I'll get the "I cheer for both" from Iowa fans who think it's a compliment or something. Especially if you're from central Iowa, that is a flat out lie. I cheer against Iowa every game, but that doesn't mean I'm an ******* about it. It's possible.
Respect but hell no. I'm cheering against them and I hope I piss off every one of their doucher fans in the process. When it comes to Iowa and their **** bag fans you're guilty by association. **** Iowa.

I was in high school watching with hawk fans in 2002 (I was the line clone in the group) and they were talking all kinds of smack at halftime. I told them the cyclones looked better in the second half the week prior. They were SILENT after that third quarter. I didn’t even need to say anything, just a wry smile, which seemed to sting even more to them.
I've told this story on here before but it fits here.

In 2002, I was watching the game at a friend's house. A couple of Hawkeyes, a couple of Cyclones, and a few who didn't have an allegiance to either. The owner of the house was a Hawk grad...and a known sore loser.

After they botched the 2nd half he turned the channel to MTV, took the remote and went upstairs to his game room. He never came back down. His wife (not a Hawk) remained a good host and we all stayed at his house the rest of the evening.

The "go upstairs and not come down" thing happened once more after he took a particularly brutal poker beat.

I don't have issues with anyone who celebrates the successes of their team. But when you start cheering the failure of the opponent with derision, then I have a problem. Goes for all fanbases. It's a blurry line, and I know I've crossed it before, but I try not to be hateful* towards either team, coaching staff or school.

Worst part is I move down here (New Mexico), take an engineering job at the national lab, and one of my coworkers is an Iowa grad.

How far do I have to move before I get rid of these people??
Outside the country. Iowa fan scatter around the US. They're like cockroaches, you can't get rid of them.

I hate this. I have a friend that claims to cheer for both. That's ********. Also she always insists on saying **** like "I'm always worried when we play Iowa State". What about the last 6 years would make an Iowa fan nervous?

I will say that there is a guy that has sat near us for probably 10 years in Jack Trice. I've never been to a home game that he hasn't attended----and I miss very few. He's always there cheering for Iowa State. Except every other year when he puts on his Iowa hat and cheers for Iowa. He's such a mystery to me. Why does he never go to Iowa home games?
There is a woman that sits next to me in WBB, exact same thing. She's a nice lady though.
