I saw that during the game and was impressed. Who delivered that hit or is this what is in the Lazard hit link that I can't seem to get to open?

Yeah this is just a gif of that Vine link, so presumably it's Lazard delivering the kit. Can't quite tell for sure from this, though.

It was Lazard. For the poster that said top 5 DBs, I'll disagree. If they can get a JUCO in to play opposite Tribune, then they have a chance to be pretty good...although getting a ranking like that depends on pass rush and it remains to be seen how ISU replaces Morrissey next year. I will say that the two young Safeties show a lot of potential. I could see Floyd getting some time at the NB spot next year.

Props also to the OL for not getting too many penalties on the road. How many times have we seen ISU OL get dumb penalties to put us in 1 and 15, or 1 and 20 in years past? Nice to see that MM and staff are cleaning that up.

Keeping in mind that I haven't reviewed the play you're talking about; if it's 3-4 yards downfield, refs aren't going to call that either if it's an offensive lineman blocking a defensive lineman.
I guess I thought we were talking about the PI pick-up call. That was the play I was thinking you were referring to, and I guess some people were talking about a completely different play? I dunno. Are we even both talking about the same play?

Who cares! Have you seen the Lazard hit?

Both the safeties are moving towards big things. Floyd looks great from the limited time we have seen of him. Tribune has been fantastic. When he starts getting picks everyone is going to be terrified of him. Richardson and Lynn are decent, I can see Lynn becoming much better as he gets more experience. My main point is Tribune will be the man next year. Both the young safeties will be great by the end of this year, so Imagine another year in the weight room.
I agree if they can get another shut down corner opposite Tribune it's a lock.

As far as pass rush goes, you are right they definitely effect one another. Most of our sacks this year have been coverage sacks. So it's safe to say this defensive back field is already carrying our defense. Taylor and Pierson I think will fill a big void soon this year, and next. I have high hopes obviously. I could be wrong but if the defense continues to improve like it has been, they will be very good by the end of the year.

I think that when the D actually has to play offenses that are imaginative and athletic (like most of the Big 12), they will be exposed a little. Still, I have hope that they will be pretty good this time next year.

Wimberly may have been coached to avoid contact. Or maybe he's a bit shy after being banged up last year, but he sure had plenty of yards after contact against Texas.

Wally really mixed it up on D. The entire two deep saw action. Myers could definitely have a bright future. So could our safeties. Fingers crossed for the end of attrition!

I was within 3 feet of Wimberly on Cyride on my daughter's orientation visit. He's tiny.
