My electrician who happens to be the brother to my plumber said his wife setup a sales presentation with Rainsoft because just for listening to them they were offering a $100 gift card to Home Depot or something. He said he eventually told the guy to leave because he was sick of listening about the over priced crap they were trying to sell. Everyone I've talked to says stay away from these "all in 1" package places like Rainsoft and Culligan try to sell you because they not only have pricey equipment but they package it up with a bunch of crappy concentrate products and service agreement and you basically spend 3 times or more what just going out and buying a water softener and whole house water filter and having a plumber install it. Do you really need to pay someone to come to your home later and change your filter, put some cleaner down your softener, and sell you more unnecessary product? The products they try to sell you really are pointless once you install the softener because the whole reason your dishes come out cloudy is because hard water does not rinse soap well. The whole house filter also will remove sediment and odor from your tap water too. If you really want some kind of additive just about any store sells a product called Lemi Shine for under $5 a bottle you can add to your dishwasher and it is an all natural citrus product. Just 1 time using it and it cleared up all our cloudy glasses and Tupperware.
