***WBB: 2026 Recruiting Thread***

Does CBF knowing w how to recruit anything but guards? The team could really, really use another Forward or three… Addie can’t be the only Forward. Hoping Macy can fit in.
It's so obvious that Fennelly had no idea how to recruit Crooks and Brown. And With Crooks and Brown starring as Freshmen it makes it so much easier to recruit other centers and tall forwards to sit on the bench.

Not sure what Kansas is doing on that list. I sort of get the local connection but Jayhawks don't belong on that list.
Good thing they are the favorite then.

Can't believe donors have been paying for all those 5 stars these last two years though when he has a losing record in 11 years

Looked some more and seems the "buzz" is Kansas when it had been Iowa. Picking Kansas over Iowa certainly is a "choice" if regional is a big factor. If staying regional is the decider, Iowa has the better program, better coach and better WBB league. All of the other schools on her list have those also, just minus the home region part.

Don’t think the fit w/ Iowa is there anymore since MW and Bjorn play the same position and who knows Iowa might be out of money this cycle spent a ton on MW

Maybe true. The Kansas five-star freshman is a forward but not a wing, don't think she's shot a three yet this year. Haven't seen her play but might be more of Hannah Stuekle type?

Everything I read says McKenna W is a power forward and Bjorn is a wing / small forward. For instance:
  • Commitment highlights:Woliczko is ranked as the sixth-best player nationally in the 2026 class by ESPN, Rivals, and 247Sports. She is also considered the second-best power forward and a top player from California in her class.
In short, they’re complimentary players and Bjorn’s almost a perfect fit for Iowa. I’ll be surprised if she doesn’t end up in IC.

And Woliczko's game isn't a mystery to Bjorn, they played together on Team USA's U17 squad together. But, who knows. Will be interesting if we see a Skim pre-commitment post on X.

Big 12 has done okay in the portal transfers the last couple of years but we are getting killed by the ACC, SEC and Big Ten for HS recruits.
The trend seems to be going to highly rated programs out of high school. Being tickled they want you without always thinking about fit, or just not knowing. Then transfer. We’ve had those come and go at ISU.
