***WBB: 2026 Recruiting Thread***

The trend seems to be going to highly rated programs out of high school. Being tickled they want you without always thinking about fit, or just not knowing. Then transfer. We’ve had those come and go at ISU.
Plus some pick a school that has gone far in the big dance then like you stated when they don't get playing time as a freshman or sophomore they enter the portal.

She's playing volleyball as well which probably was a biggest deciding factor

Reminded me of Huskers Maggie Mendelson a couple of years ago who was a top recruit in both sports and ended up transferring to Penn State. She only played hoops freshman year at Nebraska. I see Penn State lists her on the basketball roster so maybe she's going to give it another go as a senior.

I get, maybe, some of the recruits from the region but this gal is from California. Maybe Bill Self is sharing some of his war chest money.
Is there a reason why you think she signed just for WBB. Kansas has a new VB coach who is making waves - beat us both times 3-1 this past year - and is recognized for his recruiting and player development abilities, among other things. Since she is weaning an Kansas VB uniform, my guess she signed more for VB than BB.

And Ulmer isn't done yet; he just arrived in early 2025 from Oregon who he took to elite 8s and Sweet 16s. He will not be happy to just be successful in the B12; my guess, he will want to beat B1G teams, when the B12 has a pretty weak record in that regard.

If Ulmer keeps this up he might move on to one of the bigger jobs. He's a midwest guy so maybe Illinois but it would probably have to be Wisconsin and Kelly Sheffield isn't going anywhere. He's going to be a pain in our ass for awhile.

She went to KU to play both VB and WBB since she’s a top 100 prospect in both. it has nothing to do with coach stability

Macy Comito's Carlisle team beat Clear Creek-Amana 58-44 in the 4A quarterfinal earlier today. Macy had 13 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists, 3 steals, and no turnovers.

I'm about to watch the replay, and I'll give my thoughts afterward.

They play 6:45 pm on Thursday vs SC Heelan in the semi.

EDIT: replaced video link with the YouTube version, which was more stable for me.

Watch YouTube video starting at 46:35 mark through the end of the half for a steal and behind-the-back pass, then a putback at the buzzer on her own missed shot.

Comito is definitely a high-motor, pesky player. Reminds me of Reagan Wilson at times. She's definitely a point guard-type with very good passing skills, and she seemed to be able to get to the hoop when needed.
