***WBB: 2026 Recruiting Thread***

OK, names are up. With McCowan, she played 10 games last season before getting hurt, and it's unclear to me if she'll qualify for a medical hardship.
Do you think the five players mentioned with one year remaining are more likely to sign with CBF on the last year of his contract?

Is Donovyn Hunter of TCU a surprise transfer portal entry? She's a wonderful player - I think she was the primary point guard when Hailey Van Lith was there, while she only handled the ball periodically to give Olivia Miles a break this past year. Great defender - AJ, EP & DH would be ball hawks! I am a huge fan of Donovyn Hunter!!!

She's going to highly sought after. Don't see us in the running for her. What do we have to offer? Playing time? She a starter from an Elite Eight team, she'll start most anywhere.

Ashleigh Connor: 5'11" Combo Guard 2022 out of Mt. Lebanon H.S., Pittsburgh. One year remaining. Spent time at Saint Louis, with a Red Shirt there then moved to La Salle. At La Salle was second team Atlantic 10 Conference as announced at its 2025-26 Women's Basketball End-of-Season Awards

At La Salle 15 ppg, 44% fg, 36% 3p, 80% ft, 6 rpg, and 4 assists.

“On the physical side, she is a big guard,” MacGillivray said. “She’s strong. She can handle the ball. She can see the court. She has good passing angles and can see over people. She is difficult to stop going to the basket, playing around the basket, but I would say what probably is the biggest strength is she’s got a great motor. She just keeps pushing, and typically she doesn’t let mistakes affect the next play.”

Defense a little better than you'll expect-nice active player and seems under control and appears well coached.

Clear difference between the guards being targeted and what Bills had the last couple years - rebounds. Connor averages 5.5 per game, McCowan 6.4. Jada’s 3 were the highest for any guard on our team. Tells me, hopefully, a lot more effort and less standing around

I know it's not as straight forward but id also cross reference who AJ is recently following. Audi and Addy led the charge last year for transfer targets and I believe AJ is doing the same this year.

Raegan McCowan: Guard 5'11" A lot on McCowan out of Lebanon Mo. She had a dislocated left elbow in Dec. 2025 and sat out the rest of the season. McCowan is noted to have two years remaining but appears to have played in 10 of 32 games this season (32%) which seems contrary to this.

For 2025-26 17 ppg, 6 assists. All stats for year: https://www.espn.com/womens-college-basketball/player/_/id/5178451/raegan-mccowan

Raegan McCowan has been recognized as the Ohio Valley Conference Freshman of the Year for the 2023-24 season. During her freshman year, she averaged 19.4 points per game and started 28 games, showcasing her impressive performance on the court. McCowan was also named to the First Team OVC All-Conference and has been a standout player for Western Illinois University's women's basketball team
.
For Iowa State She would be an adequate replacement player with adjustment possibly better than that. She is sturdy, reliable, heady with good speed around basket at mid-major level. Low assists, and inconsistent 3 point % are liabilities for a guard. In high school she was a shooting guard and point as a secondary position.

I’ve watched a lot of WIU’s games and she’s does not have a Big 12 guards skill set in my view. Not a good 3 point shooter or great ball handler. Nice mid range game and rebounder and good competitor. Thinking small forward…..maybe 3rd guard?? Kind of a tweener that you see at that level. How it translates is the unknown.

Lauren Hurst - Tennessee - 6'3 G / F

Set the Tennessee state record for Kills - 3x Gatorade Volleyball Player of the Year in Tennessee - Led Cleveland High School to two state titles in Volleyball. Maybe CJL and CBF can pool their available funds to make a run at Ms. Hurst!

Reggi Spotts - NIACC - 5'8 G - Sophomore

Led a young NIACC team to a 28-4 record, plus ISU had good luck with another 5'8 Guard from Mason City, Jadda Buckley.

Not sure how it will translate, but she is a NJCAA Division II all American. I am originally from Mason City so I'm pulling for this one.

Not saying her game wouldn’t translate, but the ***** and moan crowd on here have lambasted our squads for being too short. I sure wouldn’t mind seeing a Rory Harmon type energizer though.
TBF I would be worried about her height, but we only have 4 players right now so beggars can't be choosers. I just think our lack of length was part of the defensive struggle last season. My hope is we can get a group that can move and apply some ball pressure. That would be a refreshing change.

I don't know how much we are truly perusing Reggi, but she is likely graduated from NIACC and maybe close enough to home that we could keep her through a coaching transition after next season.

It’s the shorter, slow and not athletic type that people have had concerns with. I’ll admit it I’ve been one to agree.

I have been critical of our defense and lack of athleticism. But, I this point forward I have nothing so say. I will enter next year with low expectations. At this point we just need enough bodies to field a team. I doubt it will be highly competitive.

Might be a functíon of JUCO basketball, but she averaged over 5rpg. Either she has good instincts or very active.

Not so concerned about her height if she can play some PG or the staff brings in a taller PG and we have a taller 3.

Agree that having Jada, Arianna & Kenzie could create problems on D. But also the later 2 on offense were mainly spot-up jump shooters on O.

Jenna Lawrence: 6'3" F transfer from Melbourne, Arkansas leaving the Razorbacks with one year eligibility. Four-star, No. 61-ranked player, according to the 2023 HoopGurlz Recruiting Rankings – ESPNW 100.

Lawrence ranked fifth on the team in scoring (7.4 points per game) and fourth in rebounding (3.6 per game) in 2025-26, yet her 15.4 minutes per game were second fewest among the nine main rotation players. Streaky double-doubles: Jenna Lawrence dropped 24 points, 11 rebounds, 3 blocks, and 1 steal as Arkansas women’s basketball beat Stephen F. Austin 82-73. It’s her 4th double-double in her college career.

Once again pulling in a player from the South is more difficult at Iowa State. Don't know what price tag Lawrence has but from what I have seen and read she is taller than forwards we lost though not overly potent. Jenna could bloom in new system and though similar to recent Cyclone Lily Hansford I suspect the results may be better. Worth a chance?

Need to put Alison Lacey-Otzelb erger on her recruitment!!

We have had some shorter "active" players come into the program but none worked out. Successful players can be great but true mini-dynamos on Harmon's level are not common. I rather take a chance on taller players but that is not in stone.
