They said she is out with "foot soreness" Would think she would play if she could since this is senior night.

They did their senior stuff on Saturday. "Foot soreness"? Well, she did break a bone in her foot so I am guessing that means it wasn't ready for game play.

Poor KST. I'm not sure they could have shot a hair triggered Wal-Mart BB gun tonight. 2 of 15 from three

New polls today with a new #1, Texas this week.

Big 12 Teams:
#10 TCU, same as last poll
#14 KSU, down two spots
#17 Baylor, up two spots
#18 West Virginia, down one
#21 OSU, up three spots

Maybe next week KSU and Baylor need to flip places. Baylor deserves a host for March more than KSU.

I wonder if the doom and gloom crowd feels any different now that the SAME Baylor team that beat us by 15 on their home court just beat a ranked KSU team by 17 on their court? Waiting…

(what is eerily similar is the three point shooting by the losing team)

Your Baylor team looked great last night. The Baylor guards easily took care of K-State's press/trap and Vonleh was a monster in the post. K-State did not have an answer all night and Jeff Mittie looked lost on the sideline.

On KSU and Baylor:

KSU has been overrated all year IMO but doubly so with Lee being out. I just have not been impressed with them at all and the record they have compiled mystifies me even when they had a part-time Lee playing 20 minutes a game. They have a NET that defies the eye test and must be built on hammering Quad 3 and Quad 4 teams by 30 points or more, which they do regularly. They beat the TCU Frogs in Lawrence but are 3-3 over their last six games. They are essentially us now but with a way better record banked early and are 6-4 over their last 10 games just like we are. They are 2-4 versus ranked teams, not exactly a record that should have them ranked were they are, they barely managed to eek out a win over us on their home court. They are really a 20-something in the polls at best IMO. Right now I'd say they are no better than the 4th or 5th best Big 12 team heading into post-season. I think we should finally get our Quad 1 win to end the season albeit a somewhat cheapie. I'll be shocked if we are not favored (unless we auger in Wednesday and I don't see that happening).

Baylor probably has the best player talent in the league when you average it across their top eight players. TCU is with them for starting five but nothing off the bench at all. That final game for all the Big 12 marbles should be a good one. Too bad Littlepage-Buggs is out.

Jeff has looked lost several times since Lee went down. KST has been over-rated for quite some time. After she went out the pollsters seemed to keep voting for them as if she was still on the floor. Gonna be interesting to see the game Sunday with TCU. Problem is Baylor will probably be without Buggs and Fontelroy.

What's sad to me is that TCU & BU would not be playing for 1st place if they were in the SEC. They'd be battling for 6th place in my opinion.

League is likely to be even weaker sauce next year with the top teams graduating their starting cores. Could be a scrum for 1st place unless a team really manages to separate themselves.

Correct - the teams above us in the standings are all old.

TCU - average age of starters is 22.5 (Seniors/5th/7th year - VanLith, Prince, Conner, Emma-Nnopu)
Baylor - Felder, Mathrau, Walker, Vonleh, Van Gytenbeek (injured DNP), and Andrews are all seniors/5th year, and Fontleroy and Littlepage-Buggs are juniors.
Utah - starts four seniors, Gneepkens is a redshirt junior, and the top two off the bench are juniors.
WVU - starts three seniors/5th year and two juniors, two top reserves are seniors.
K-State - Lee (7th year), Sundell, Taylor, Poindexter, J Glenn, B Glenn (injured, could come back next year), Sanchez (participated in Senior Day, has a year left).
OK State - has nine players who have played in 26-27 games; of those nine players, four are seniors/5th year, one is a junior, and one is a redshirt sophomore who is in her third year at OK State.

If we can't win the league one of the next two years we never will. I really think it will be the weakest since I started following back at the dawn of Big 12 and worry it may be permanently weak. Going to be terrible timing for hiring a new coach after Fennelly retires with a maybe empty roster post Crooks/Brown and a 4th ranked league.

League, other than woeful Kansas and Utah, isn't doing much on the recruiting side for HS kids for 2025 either. Kansas recruiting is weird with a whole bunch of kids. Some are local/regional but still they've sort of sucked for years.

In today's NCAA world I really don't think you can judge teams / leagues rosters until August / Sept. OSU is an example that had a dramatic change in the roster after last year. TCU upgraded with the addition of Van Lith (who I am nota fan of). My point is there can be dramatic changes in the off season so to say the league will be down is unknown at this point.

Agree we still have the "second season" of recruiting for 2025 however a couple of the teams expected to be down will need a huge infusion of transfers and we are now out of the 5th year bonus babies era. I think the number of experienced players will be down and not sure Big 12 teams will compete with more attractive/better teams in other leagues. The Big 12 teams maybe can offer PT but not the same prestige as the Big Ten and SEC squads. The Big 12 is just not treading up regardless of what happens in the portal come this spring.

Guess the wildcard in HS recruits in Aaliyah Chavez who is rumored to maybe sign and stay at home with Texas Tech and feed her dad's business, a basketball academy in Lubbock. Not sure if she could do that and turn TT around like JuJu did at USC or not. Think it will take more than that to resurrect TT. JuJu wasn't the only good player at USC and TT sucks right now with a coach that is floundering and maybe only keeping her job because of the Chavez recruiting. Texas is also after Chavez but I am not so sure that Vic might not "win" by losing her. Think she might be a boatload of PR and chemistry trouble. Guess her coming to TT would be good PR for the Big 12 and we could use some of that.

You have to wonder why if Chavez is really that good and wants to go farther she would select TT with a program that is not going anywhere and may even have a new coach next season.
