I wonder if the doom and gloom crowd feels any different now that the SAME Baylor team that beat us by 15 on their home court just beat a ranked KSU team by 17 on their court? Waiting…

(what is eerily similar is the three point shooting by the losing team)
Still 0-9 in Quad 1 games. Still 0-6 against teams above us in the conference standings. Still have that hideous loss to UNI.

If we can't win the league one of the next two years we never will. I really think it will be the weakest since I started following back when I staarted following at the dawn of Big 12 and worry it may be permanently weak. Going to be terrible timing for hiring a new coach after Fennelly retires with a maybe empty roster post Crooks/Brown and a 4th ranked league.

League, other than woeful Kansas and Utah, isn't doing much on the recruiting side for HS kids for 2025 either. Kansas recruiting is weird with a whole bunch of kids. Some are local/regional but still they've sort of sucked for years.
This will be interesting - Schneider's contract runs through the end of next year. At KU, he is sitting at 142-161 overall and 50-126 (two games left this year) in the Big 12 over 10 years. I'm not sure how he gets the recruits he gets with the dismal performance they've had under his tenure.

I've seen coaches that were decent coaches but couldn't recruit to save their neck. And coaches that recruited top notch players but never brought home the trophies. But as Bum Phillips said, "A good coach can take hisn's and beat yourn's and take yourn's and beat hisn's".

I loved Bum and his Oiler teams featuring Earl Campbell (wearing the tear-away jersey). He was just unfortunate to be matched against Chuck Knoll and those Steeler juggernauts...

Did I? We're 0-2 against KSU/Baylor so what they do to each other is irrelevant to us. What is relevant to us is that we can't beat anyone "better" than us which spells doom for postseason play.
Not disputing it but we do have a game against KSU left - at home. If we can’t get that done, then I’ll be in the camp of throwing our hands up. At some point, we do have to accept reality that even in best case scenarios, we aren’t making it far in postseason play unless we score a tremendous upset or two. Gotta roll with the facts that are present, not what was true four months ago.

Well, we are finally going to beat someone above us in the standings to end the season and it's the team we were supposed to be battling for first. At this point they are not actually any better than us, just above us in the standings. We haven't really moved up to their level, they sort of dropped to ours post-Lee IMO.

Yep...you missed the point a second time around too. We lost on the road to a hot Baylor team by a smaller margin than a top 15 KSU team did at home. That doesn't make it such a terrible looking loss, but rather is a testament to just how hot Baylor is right now.

Nearly every single loss we've had against rated teams or even those ahead of us has been on the road. That makes a difference too. Let's wait and see what happens Sunday.

That's fine and dandy but what they do to each other is irrelevant to us when we can't beat either one of them.

Baylor beating KSU doesn't change our loss to Baylor into a win or our loss to KSU into a win.
Correct but one could look at the results and notice JSU is not playing as well right now.

We will see Sunday, I think we beat KState.

I certainly hope we've been working on the press break since Manhattan.
True. We also lost that game in OT. So it was competitive even with those issues. Clean that up and we win. I would say we are also playing better since that first game vs. Kstate.

No Ayoka on Sunday, another surgery for pain in her other foot. Out for two weeks, no Big 12 tourney either, but back for the NCAA tourney.

I feel for her, but I’ve seen her name mentioned on some WNBA draft lists and I can’t see a team willing to put their necks out for someone who seemingly is injured constantly. It sucks that this happens, but I don’t know how any team would be willing to take the risk given how the last few years of college have gone for her.

She is not playing in the NCAA, that is the press release telling the public that so the committee hopefully still gives then 1st and 2nd round home games. I will be shocked if she plays any meaningful minutes in the NCAA tourney. If we can beat them and the go one and done in KC, and Baylor wins, Baylor takes that home NCAA slot away from KSU. JMHO.

I could see a team using a late round pick on Lee - those players rarely make the roster so why not take a flyer on a very good player who would be first round pick if not for the injuries.

From watching the WNBA the last couple years and Lee for the last 7 IMO she would not make a team if drafted. She has to many years missed with injuries for a team with a limited roster to take a chance.

Pingeton stepping down at Missouri after the season. This was likely happening whether it was her decision or not.

Her contract was up, so go out on your own terms vs. being fired.

Utah @ WVU. Utah’s post who shot 4-6 from 3 against ISU has CLANKED 2 point attempts in this game. We were right forcing her to shot but she made them. Looks horrendous this evening tho.
