The girls are doing great, but don't get all crazy about what you expect of this team. The game against Texas will be really tough. They have all kinds of top 5 and top 10 recruits on that team and they are very well coached. I still like our girls for the win, but it will be a real test. I'm looking forward to it.

Some could argue that she has greatly under-performed given their "recruiting" prowess.

Someone getting a top 5 recruiting class for 5/6 straight years, and landing top 1 or 2 overall recruits in the class repeatedly year over year, should be doing more than sweet sixteens and winning a conference championship of some kind. I just sit back and imagine what BF could do with some of her athletes.

Her recruiting, at least on paper, is on the level of Notre Dame, UConn, Baylor....but on court results, not so much.

And to this day our only WNBA player? Eight years ago already! Back when the Storm were in town to play the Lynx:

I'm jealous....

Yeah, good point. I can't disagree.

Correction - Brittany Wilkins played for Sacramento and San Antonio in the WNBA - didn't get into many games, but she made both teams.

Chelsea Poppens got signed by San Antonio Stars at the end of their season for one year as well. She played in about 5-10 games if I recall correctly.

Stacy Frese - Utah
Desiree Francis - NY Liberty
Brittany Wilkins - Sacramento / San Antonio
Chelsea Poppins - San Antonio
Tracey Gahan - NY Liberty

These are off the top of my head.

Blum was pushing hard last night on the radio for a huge crowd for the women's game. But I'm not seeing much push anywhere else, including here in the WBB forum.

I think I saw a promotion for $3 tickets on Facebook, so the school is trying to fill the arena. Wish I lived closer to Ames, definitely would go. Team has really looked vastly improved so far this year.

Agree, I still thought about driving over until the bad weather rolled in.

Interesting. Looked these up (bored here on a Friday night), still nobody that played more than a handful of games. Found the WNBA has bios for those that played and Gahan never made a roster. Francis played two games, Poppens 8 and Wilkins 7. Kinda easy to miss and I'll give myself a pass! ;)

Looks like Lacey had the most games at 22 edging out Frese at 21 although Stacy played more minutes. Frese was so long ago I totally forgot she might have been in the WNBA.

I was just going to say the same. Didn't she have a pretty good career overseas then? Maybe still playing? I could go look it up, but I'm ready for bed. :)

Poppens is in Australia again after playing in Sweden last.

The Cyclone who played the most pro ball is likely Gahan. She played seven different seasons.

I found this interesting, http://www.espn.com/womens-college-basketball/bracketology.

Iowa State is at a #3 seed in his latest projections. This was before the TCU game too.

Also, for those interested, I have seen Bridget as high as #12 pick in the projected WNBA mock drafts.

If we get high enough to get 1st and 2nd rounds at home I hope we can get a crowd at least of 10,000 with possibility of 11,000.

Someone needs to update her wiki page, her last team listed is 2014. She is the only former player I follow on twitter, and she came home late fall and finished up her MBA. I've never seen her make mention of her future plans. Someone should try to make an alumni page for the program! I saw Dr. Junod on BF's feed right before the Texas game.
