Personally I am excited about this. What do you guys think about going up-tempo with the roster we have?

Let me throw this out there. Welcome back to the team Chris Colvin. That is a prediction.

I love this hire! But I could care less about the tempo. Fast, slow, average. Just win!

People think uptempo=wins

but that's not really the case

It will bring back the magic though and fans will enjoy watching it much more

Its nice to hear that our offense will be simple and the players wont need these...

Basketball doesnt need to be complicated, there were tons of times with McD i was scratching my head why we wouldnt keep going to the well if something was working.

up-tempo is the way to go in the Big 12. He's right, we can't grind it out every week, we need easier buckets. And I also liked how he said he knows we can't do that every night- he has really learned a ton from the great coaches hes known.

No doubt. Coach Mayor said that they are going to keep things simple. They are going to simplify the game. I think CC plays at ISU next season.

Im thinking Colvin is back. Dendy will thrive in the up-tempo, and I think Ejim and McKnight will as well. Good riddance to Ham, because he would struggle with the up-tempo style of play.

Thank goodness! I had a problem with not having an up-tempo team, because when the other team would create full-court pressure the cyclones couldn't do anything that was effective against it. The Kansas vs. UNI game reminded me of this a lot. In the last minute when the Jayhawks but the pressure on UNI, the Panthers couldn't handle the ball as they were struggling to get the ball in bounds. This was ISU problem with GMac at the helm.

Talks to Tim Floyd every 3 weeks. That's way cool.

Larry Brown, Kevin McCale, Larry Bird all have influenced him.

How can you go wrong with those kinda mentors?

My prediction, Boozer will excel in an up-tempo playing style. He already hustles the entire time he is on the floor. Getting everyone around him playing at his speed will give him some help. I think his skill set is more suited for a run and gun style and wouldn't be surprised if he does "bring back the magic," like he has been saying.

I thinks Christopherson is going to get some nice looks from the wing in the up tempo offense. Much the way the Mayor did!

This. In a perfect world we will always be able to force our tempo on our opponent but that just can't be done. I am glad to hear that he understands that concept. Push the ball and take the easy ones if they are there otherwise you pull up and grind on the opponent. There were too many times when GMAC was here that we had an opportunity for a 3 on 2 break and we pulled up rather then attacking when the opportunity presented itself. It doesn't sound that is going to be an issue any longer.
