Didn't see a forum started, but it looks like it could get a little crazy this weekend especially up in my parts (extreme NW Iowa and SD). Sounds like the snow will stay to the north, but wanted to see what others had heard. Earl's page isn't working so I can't get properly whipped up into a frenzy!

NW Minney is gonna get slammed...they're saying over a foot for that area on the Twin Cities stations. Those maps above are off if you believe the local news. They are saying 'maybe a dusting' in the Twin Cities.

Better go pick the rest of the garden. Still have cabbages, onions, peppers, and even a few tomatoes out there.

We're probably all going to die.

Well... except those going to the game on Saturday! #PackTheJack!

In all seriousness, this isn't going to be a much of a trouble maker for Iowa outside of the NW corner of the state. Nebraska panhandle to northern Minnesota will be the area to watch for the heaviest snow.

Bigger story for those missing the snow will be the sharp return of 'cold' conditions and a pretty stiff wind.

People round these parts are already decked out in jackets and earmuffs. What the hell are people gonna do when it gets cold?

I'm in the NW corner and wondering if we need to leave Friday afternoon, any ideas on what it will be like?

Yah, I don't get that either. I always use this time of year to get my body adjusted to the colder temps. If you go without a coat now, then when you need a coat it isn't nearly as bad. If you keep yourself toasty then you'll be cold all winter.

I am heading to the twin cities Sunday from Cedar Falls for the Viking game. Any of you experts think the storm will stay west or north of the cities? Trying to decide if I should bail and list on stub hub. Thanks

Heaviest snow looks to stay northwest of the Cities at this point. Even then. The snow will be done by Friday night giving plenty of time for recovery on roads even if there is a shift southward.

You'll be fine. Enjoy the game. Hope you help bring the Vikings a W again.
