I can’t work from home on Friday. Probably the only day all winter I can’t. So annoying.

Inventory?

no, just out of town management. I’m hoping they change their mind but so far seem insistent that they’ll be here.

I work from home regularly and can work from home with bad weather so I’m not used to having to worry about it.

Anyone in Johnston have some kids that want to make a little extra money. Leaving for Mexico on Saturday 4am and need someone to scoop in case I don't get everything Friday night.

I'm learning my lesson about prepaying for a hotel room to save $10 with this one. I'm supposed to be in MN until Friday morning, but looks like I should head home overnight on Thursday.

Not exactly sure.

I have basically stopped prepaying unless I’m staying there in a week or less and the weather has 0 issues. The one time you get hit erases about 15 times you saved money.

We had two tournaments...1 in Urbandale and 1 in Indianola...that were cancelled last weekend. UDale is about a 40 min drive for us on a normal day, 40 minutes from UDale to Indianola then about 35 minutes back home from Indianola. We were planning on taking 2 cars so that I (or my wife) could watch the majority of one kid’s UDale tournament (while the other stayed the whole time), while being able to get the other kid to the Indianola tournament on time.

We would have made it all work had the tournaments not cancelled the night before, but I’m telling you...I would have been piiiiiiiiiiiissed if we had shown up and had to sit there with my thumb in my ass because a bunch of teams didn’t show up.

Not to mention referees who may show up, expecting to be paid, but not have games to ref. If refunding entry fees, where does that come from? Etc Etc Etc

Just saying.

Totally agree that I'm sure there are way more logistical components than my pea-brain can think of that would make my proposal impossible. Still just stinks to see something like an athletic booster club lose out on that kind of money if you had many teams still willing to come.

My son’s team was also supposed to play in Indianola. I was pretty grumpy that it was cancelled.

I think based on the forecast it was the right call to cancel any event. I just think it's unfortunate the forecast wound up being as off as it was.

There's no good answer. If you wait too long to call it people are grumpy as well. And no one wants the thought of someone dying trying to get there on their conscious.
