Weekend grilling

I like to put a slice of onion in the middle of two smaller patties (combined)...adds a nice crunch.

Woreshesters sauce is a nice touch...I put garlic in everything.

The real question is what kinda meat do you use? Ground sirloin, ground chuck, and the percentage, I struggle with this.

85% groud chuck makes a juicier (and fattier) burger. Since I switched to that, I limit myself to one burger.

Top it with some sauted onions, pepper jack cheese and your favorite BBQ sauce (warm). Use an onion bun.
You could even spice up some bacon (black pepper and what ever else u like) throw that on as well.

If you like reubens you could top it with some kruat, swiss, corned beef and 1000 island.

I watched a cooking show the other day where they put some bread crumbs into the meat mix to help keep the juices inside.
Anyone ever tried this?

Two of our favorite options - other than the straight cheese burger:

"Smash Burgers" (stolen from Bobby Flay)
1/2 lb burgers pattied thin
Kaiser Buns
Ham
Swiss Cheese
Dijon Mustard
Mayo
Garlic - minced (mix with mayo)
Pickles (optional - I don't like them so I leave them off)

Cook burgers over high heat. Place on bun with one slice of swiss on bottom, one on top, then a slice of ham, mayo, and mustard. Wrap each one in foil and return to grill over low heat. "Smash" each one down with either a heavy skillet, brick, etc. Cook 1-2 minutes tops. Messy, a little labor intensive, but good.

Bacon Curd Burgers
Start with 2 thin patties. Put cheddar cheese curds and cooked bacon (chopped up, preferrably something thick cut) on one, cover with the other and seal up so cheese/bacon is in the middle. Cook and serve covered with BBQ sauce.

I cook mine with the Cookie's seasoning and soy sauce. Can be a little salty, but man are they good.

combine the hamburger with parmesan and italian season. Maybe a little ground onion. Awesome if you like pizza burgers.

Ground chuck 85%
Egg
Saltine crackers crushed
Woreshester sauce
Soy sauce
Lowerys
Chopped Onions
Garlic Powder

I would second all that. Salt does wonders, and the garlin and oninon add a lot of flavor.

Here's a side tip. Mesh the meat with some eggs(non cooked), it helps with the juiciness. Bread crumbs do well too, but then I think the burger tastes too much like bread. I also spray some liquid butter over the top of to help as well.

I sometimes do something similar. When making a bunch of meatballs I'll hold some back and make a couple of patties and grill them. Top it with some pasta sauce and mozzerella cheese.
