I read this story the other night of a guy that dives for golf balls in ponds all around Florida and re-sells them online. He has made $15 million the last 20 years and has virtually no overhead outside of his scuba gear and ball washer.

Any of you know people with odd careers/jobs that you would never think you could make money at?

Boy, when he gets out of the pond he has to have one big ball sack.

What is the going rate for someone to wash your balls now?

Used to try getting golf balls out of ponds as a kid, always got run off by some jackleg in a golf cart with a spotlight. I imagine this guy actually has permission to do so...

Swampy balls are the worst.

Balls that you may find in the grass or woods are a ok.

Idk but you could ask him. Hawk fans’ balls have been squeaky clean for years.

My grandparents always had a funny story to tell related to this. They were golfing in Florida, and my grandpa got a little too close to a pond and fell in with a big splash. A few seconds later a scuba diver jumped out of the pond thinking the splash was an alligator rather than a person.

In high school I went door to door selling door viewers/seeing eye holes for $20 a pop. Lowe's would have a 20 pack for $75 or something.

I would go with a cordless drill, a folded up template to pick the height, and a mini broom set to pick up the dust. Drilled on the spot. Took less than 10min including cash exchange and people always wanted it but just didn't know it. I was there with a service that could be completed in no time and it was worth it.

I have a friend who is a dentist but makes to much money bartending at a bar at Lake of the Ozarks to actually go do dentist work. She works 6 months a year and said she makes way more money bartending than she did as a dentist.
