Nowhere and Everywhere

While western ND was doing well with the oil boom eastern ND was hurting due to the clogged rail systems. Grain elevators could not get rail units to ship grain and their basis was insanely high there the last 3-4 years. There were plenty of instances of corn being hauled by truck to Blair because it was their best option even with the high cost of shipping. The oil effect had a huge negative impact on the part of ND that can actually grow crops. Working in ag I know quite a few people in the ag world based in eastern ND and NW MN and they obviously were not fans of the oil fields. Calving rates in western ND has also been affected greatly by the oil rigs when in full swing. Some areas were as low as 50%. Most involved in ag in ND feel the state through their main stable economy under the bus for a boom/bust economy.

Actually the oil fields aren't doing so hot right now with the low prices. They're laying off a ton of people. Saudi Arabia is flooding the market with cheap oil and ND can't produce it that cheap.

The best part about this is that PondBuffalo is closer to this than nearly any of us and yet he had no idea that his oil boom has been becoming a bust.

Its his only (stupid) comeback, besides his favorite football team. And he has zero affiliation with oil money.

Wasn't it at one point that pretty much any woman that stepped foot in North Dakota got raped? Has that slowed down with the oil economy as well?

Iowa City is a dump, for tailgating walking down that 1 street with the house parties reminded me of everyone having a family reunion with potato salad & pork/beans. it was a joke. Iowa State tailgating is so much better.

No one likes the hawkeyes, trust me.
