Heres my little list, no order.

Less drops
Cut down on penalties
Better accuracy(and less INT's)
Young and/or Bundrage stepping up opposite Lenz
Howard and/or Brun stepping up at TE
Establishing the run early and often, don't get away from whats working
Improved pass rush

Most of those things are on offense, and I think it is all very possible to accomplish with the talent and experience returning.

Just 24 hours till game time now. Hard not to be excited. My expectations may be a bit lower than others. I expect to see 1) a victory 2) positive turnover ratio (and one or less turnovers by ISU) and 3) improved d-line play. Maybe that's a lot.

I would like to see the team come out to Princes of the Universe by Queen, and have CPR decapitate the other coaches while screaming "there can be only one!"

I want to see our D dominate a team from a lesser conference giving us hope that they can do it against every single opponent this season.

How good is the OL without KO and Hicks? We stunk at the beginning of the year last year on the OL. Hopefully get off to a better start this year

Can our front 4 get any pressure?

How is Jansen Watson in pass coverage?

Are our WR's getting separation?

Steel throwing the ball on a better line? Less floating to his passes? Standing tall in pocket but running when needed?

Shontrelle back to being Shontrelle? Nealy as good as advertised?

Way up there
This team went .500 last year and was rated 112 in turnover ratio, to me thats the hands down the most glaring thing that needs to be improved. Last year was a fun year but you could make the argument it should have been much more sucessful. It starts with some consistent QB play, personally most of the spring and summer I would have liked to see JB win the job but now I'm completely behind Jantz, I honestly hope he proves he deserved the job and plays well enough to nip the QB controversy in the bud. Otherwise it could fester all season long.

I'll be in Lot B5 tomorrow waiting for you, 21. I told you I'd buy you the beer just to witness you fail.

I want to see a dominant running game. If we have that ability, coupled with a solid defense, we should be able to compete in every game.

This pretty much sums it up for me.

I'm also looking to see who has taken a leap and how the RS FR look, both physically and mentally. Who looks the part and who just gets the mental aspects of the game. There's a ton of stuff an average fan won't see on that, but there hopefully be a couple that just stick out (I'm expecting George, Watson, Bundrage, Morrissey)

Oh, and I'll also be watching to see if our two freshman backup tackles (Lalk and Dagel) get in the game at all. I know people are talking about the OL depth, but the fact that both backup tackles (behind SRs) are freshman worries me. Hopefully they can get some experience and are ready to play BigXII football.

A true "run first" offense that will produce far fewer turnovers. And a dominating Cyclonic defense that can cause turnovers. Enough of a lead that the 2's and 3's get some significant, meaningful minutes. And as long as I am dreaming - no injuries for the home team.

Newcomers to both sides of the ball. How much impact will the RS Freshman at WR have throughout the game, and also on defense seeing how our DL performs.
