I drive a 2003 Honda Civic for my 65ish mile round trip commute. Love it, low mileage when purchased. Will go forever.

Wife drives a 2007 Pontiac Torrent. Horrible piece of crap. Problem after problem and only at 78,000 miles. Not well made, light and terrible in snow. Will trade immediately upon getting other one paid off.

2000 Ford Taurus.

Sexy as hell.

jk I hate it and can't wait to buy a real car when I graduate in December

LOL

'90 Taurus was the first car I bought out of school. Wasn't cool by anyone's definition. But I loved that car. Comfortable (I'm 6'4") and reliable. Gave me a solid 6-7 years.

If you're handy with this stuff at all - look at doing it yourself. I don't get where Subaru gets off charging $500+ for a hitch that you can get online for about $140 and takes 6 bolts.

I think this is the same between '14 and '15. You can get them almost half the cost listed here through resellers. But this link has the instructions

http://www.curtmfg.com/HitchLookup/find?year=2015&make=Subaru&model=Forester&style=All

I've read up quite a bit on the Forester message boards about it, but they all seemed to be in agreement that the 3rd party hitches are not near the quality the Subaru hitch is, and some have had problems with theirs. I get 20% off accessories coupons somewhat frequently from my dealer so I'll just wait for that next coupon most likely and then bite the bullet for $400. For $150 or so more I'll save myself the headaches, especially since a little of the value should hold up for resale in buying a hitch from Subaru since so many Subaru users are bikers/campers/both and will be looking for a hitch when they look for a Forester.

What's your take on your Infiniti? Best car (other than the Rover) we've had was an Acura but like the looks and reputation of the Infinitis.

For me and considering all models
Fit/Finish
Lexus
Acura
Infiniti
BMW
Never owned a Mercedes or Range Rover. Range Rovers have pretty horrible reliability ratings but I love their interiors. Some of the nicest leather.

My Infiniti has a lot more stuff but if I kept it for 100k miles I would expect Acura/Lexus to hold up better. We have friends with a 10 year old Honda Pilot that has 150k miles that looks brand new and not one squeak.

Bang for the Buck
Infiniti-They live and die by one model which they got right, the G37 sedan. Two good SUV's. Everything else is kind of blah.
Acura-Acura is doing it right with their SUV's but their sedans are just not competitive.
Lexus-GS is nice, new IS 350 is nice.
Mercedes
BMW-Always about 20% overpriced compared to Japanese. Their best models seem to be the cheapest models (1,2,3,and 4 series). M series are wonderful but again way overpriced IMO

Most boring
Lexus (Except the F models)
Acura
Infiniti

The brand that is finally getting it right seems to be Cadillac. Nearly bought a used CTS-V but the interior still seemed pretty junky for that level of car. I was impressed by the ATS that I sat in though. The big 3 have been nailing it on their powertrains for a number of years but some still have some work to do when it comes to interior quality in the luxury market.

Personally I have a 2005 Pontiac Bonneville but I rarely drive it more than 50 miles a month anymore. For my company vehicle I drive a 2011 Chevy Silverado 2500. I got it with about 40k miles in Feb 2013 and now 16 months later it has 130k.

2008 Nissan Rogue. Nice car. I had a Murano for a couple years prior which I loved and decided to try for a little better gas mileage.

Pros: comfortable, very reliable, low maintenance costs, great winter vehicle, decent pickup for 4 cylinder

Cons: sightlines are pretty bad (fine if you keep a mental perimeter around your car, but would not recommend for a new driver) and gas mileage still hovers around 21, which is pretty weak

Wife has a 2008 Honda Pilot. It's been good as well. I prefer smoother turning though.

Of course they did, it's a Subaru fanboy site. Rubyclone...you just got your answer as to how they can get away with it.

We have a 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix for is not transporting the kids. There is only 200 other ones in the Des Moines area that are the same color.

Whoever has the kids, drives our 2009 Chrysler Town and Country. Only green one I've seen in town. Being the roomiest vehicle, it handles pretty well in the grassy lots around JT.

I have owned nearly 80 cars in the past 20 years or so....no joke. Everything from cheap poopboxes to sports cars and trucks. Currently in my stable:

1998 BMW 740il. Great trip car....built like a tank. Remarkable car for the $$.
1999 Camry. Work beater...has 262k miles on it. Still runs great....ugly and homely to most but beautiful to me.
1990 Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX. Little hot rod...beefed up engine, turbo, etc. Hauls ***. Used to autocross this one.
1991 Nissan 300zx twin turbo. Great sports car...very solid and fast. Better than every vette made up until the C6.
1994 F150 ex cab 4x4. Drive in winter and tows quads and stuff. Great old mans pickup.
1966 Cadillac Calais coupe. Great cruiser....going to airbag it this summer. Fun to take around town.
1979 Chevy Malibu coupe. Going to make a street/drag car with this. Currently sounds fast, but aint.
1991 Mitsubishi Galant VR4. Great winter car....remarkably fast and solid at speed too.

Girlfriend drives a Subaru Outback. Solid winter car, and decent driver for her. The awd is nice going over mountain passes and in Oregon mountain roads.

If I had the money I'd trade the Pontiac in for a new Ford Fusion Hybrid right now. Michigan gas prices make the Pontiac not nearly as fun to drive as it used to be.

Another Stratus here, of the '06 variety.

When my '07 Impala was totaled by an overnight drunk hit & run, I needed something quick. This one hasn't been TOO bad on the pocketbook. Just about up to 100k miles.
